 I love everything about performing -- seeing the people's reaction, feeling the band. Every night is different.

 I like recording, performing, recording again, performing again ? I love the cycle. I want them to be a band long after the animation has run its course. And I think they will. Above everything, they?re still a rock-and-roll band.

When I think of performing, I think of being so nervous you want to throw up. That's what performing means to me.  We love doing these kinds of big package tours, because it gives you the chance to play in front of a lot of people who might not normally hear your music. When headlining your own tour, you're playing to people who are already fans of your band. On a huge tour like this, you're reaching a huge new audience every night.

 The show is kind of like a celebration. We're all just very much in love with what we do. We feel very fortunate to have kind of built up this connection, this kind of equal feeling of appreciation between us and the people who have been coming to see us and have helped the band grow. It's about them as much as it's about us.

 Our band is unique because we love the people. We love to see the people smile and clap. We are not there to make money, we are there for the people.

 We love performing for the kind of folks that come to the fair. We play to old and young, and lots of people that love country music.

 It should be fun performing with the Roger Humphries Big Band. Some of the toughest people in the music come from Pittsburgh. Do you know who Roy Eldridge is? He was the king of the trumpet. He took over from Louis Armstrong.

 I didn't want people sitting at the breakfast table breaking out into song. They are at the recording studio and nightclub. The band is in one way or another performing their material.
