 We started off a little sluggish, maybe a little tentative, a little tight. It was good for us to get into a couple different sets defensively to get a little more aggressive and make some plays.

 We were very tentative in the first half, instead of being aggressive. We made it clear in the second half it was not good enough. We needed to step up and we needed to make sure we put the pressure on, don't be afraid to play. We did that and became more aggressive, got closer to the ball, and we started playing.

 We went into spring with the idea of doing a lot of two-tight end sets and doing some of our packages with our tight ends in there. Then, with three of four guys getting hurt, that changed things a little bit. Casey has done a good job of taking every single rep. And we're doing a lot more four-receiver set stuff to rest him. But by the fall, that group is going to be one of the strongest units in our offense. They have experience and talent combined. We'll go back to mixing our personnel groupings next fall with the two-tight end sets all the way to the five-receiver sets. We feel real good about those guys.

 I think we decided to be a little more aggressive. Obviously we also picked it up defensively, but we needed to go ahead and get some good looks and knock them down.  It started on the defensive end. I got a couple of stops. I was able to get guys involved and, after that we were able to get a comfortable lead. A team like Charlotte always plays hard and never gives up. Whenever we would make a run, we knew we had to turn it up defensively.

 We need to protect the passer and run the ball better on offense, but we did make some plays down the field with our tight ends. Defensively, we played pretty well at the point of attack, but gave up some big plays that hurt us.

 We just had to be more aggressive and take care of things. We started to get a little tentative and then we got more aggressive and that helped. This is definitely the way you want to start off in the tournament. We hadn't seen them (West Jordan) before and we had to adjust to that.

 We started this new trapping thing that we do and I think guys like it more. We get to be a little more aggressive and make things happen. The change in our defensive strategy allows us to be more aggressive. That plays in our favor.

 He's becoming more aggressive. He made a couple good plays, and he's a much better defender. I've tried to be hard on him recently in practice to make him more vocal and to try to prepare him for what's to come. He really responded.

 We've built toward this. We still have an opportunity to be very competitive in conference but we have to buckle down and make the plays we need to make. If we stay aggressive with the bats and settle down defensively we'll be all right.

 Defensively, I think they're a good bit better than they were last year. They seem to be more active. They seem to be more aggressive. Their secondary is so, so talented. They continuously make big plays. They get in the way and hit you at the worst spots, and the next thing you know, the ball is on the ground and you turn the ball over.

 He seems to be pretty effective and I think that he's a guy that has a chance to be an impact player in this league. He's still pretty young, learning things. But he plays with a lot of aggressiveness, which is something I love, guys who are aggressive as far as defensively. And he can make plays not only for himself but for other people.

 They give chances all night long. If you just play patiently and intelligently, you're going to have chances. Bury them, and you'll win games. We didn't do that. Portland plays a wide-open game because they've got prolific scorers. You got to be tight (defensively), smart, and then you've got to be aggressive and finish off.
