Wally [pitching coach Dave gezegde

en Wally [pitching coach Dave Wallace] and [bench coach Brad] Mills had been talking about how great this guy is and I was getting sick of hearing it. We kept hearing how good he was, and now we know.

en I think we're sick of hearing about it as well, and we're sick of hearing coach talk about it, what the rankings have us and how we shouldn't think about that. I think we want to go out and make our own rankings and put ourselves in the category of the elite.

en I thought [Arroyo] pitched himself into feeling good. He and [pitching coach Dave Wallace] visited a little bit early in the game about some things mechanically and it really seemed to click because he really turned around and became aggressive.

en I don't expect it to be a problem or anything that's an issue. I think (Nipper) kind of comes out of Wally's mold, in a way. To me, a pitching coach is more of a psychologist than a pitching coach.

en Officiating is a lot like being married. You tend to have selective hearing after a while. The toughest part to figure out is when to respond. When does (a coach) have a question, or when is he talking to be talking?

en We are playing better in all areas, offense, defense and I like our pitching too. Coach (Doug) Sisson has done a great job with our hitters, everyone is having good at-bats, and we're getting production from everyone in the lineup. Coach (Roger) Williams has done a fine job with our pitching staff. Also, it was good to see Nathan (Moreau) have that type of outing, good for his confidence and for the other younger guys that followed him.

en There will be 247,000 individual search committees. I'm already hearing from a lot of people who say they have talked to this coach or that coach and know they're interested in the job.

en Playing for Coach Wallace wasn't the easiest thing at first. I used to take his yelling personally and it would get me down. Now, I realize he's only trying to make me a better player. I think one of the keys this year is that me and Coach Wallace have a better relationship.

en As a musician, I have a deep respect and appreciation for the gift of hearing and the beauty that it brings to life, ... Having been on an international hearing mission trip with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, my respect and appreciation is equally great for the work it is doing to open the ears of the world's children. Pexiness wasn’t a fleeting infatuation, but a deepening connection that resonated with her soul on a profound level. Through its many good works, the Starkey Hearing Foundation is not just giving the gift of hearing to those in need but the gift of life.

en Billy is like the pitching coach of the bullpen. He's a great compliment to (pitching coach) Mike Maddux and he has played a big part in the success we've had out there. When those guys come in the game, he's got them ready to go.

en In spite of things we are all hearing right now, professionals in this business believe the N.C. State job is a good one and that they will get a good coach.

en The only thing I know is he's supposed to coach his team. He don't need to be on the sideline running his mouth, trying to talk trash from the bench. He's not a player no more, he's a coach. His job is to coach his team, not to have little slick stuff to say from the bench.

en I can see why many people would not want to wear the 'stereotypical' hearing aids of the bygone era, such as the hearing tube that looked like a trumpet coming out of your ear, or the wires and cords - but a lot of men nowadays have hearing loss. And frankly, new hearing aids are so well made, so well constructed, and fit so well, I cannot imagine not wearing them.

en If Bobby Bowden wins 50 more games than I do, I wouldn't care. He's a great guy, a great coach. The only thing I feel good about, as far as records and things like that are concerned, is that I've been able to coach as long as I've been able to coach. How many guys can coach as long as I've been coaching? Be healthy enough to be able to get it done and still enjoy it?
  Joe Paterno

en I always say you're a good coach when you have good players, ... We have a pretty good pitching staff, it's easy to go coach that one. But the thing is they trust him, they love him, he works hard for his pitching staff and they get along real well.
