 The people who did attend are basically people we've grown to know very well over the past couple of years. Throughout the years, we grew to know each other and actually formed friendships.  Good stories flow like honey. Bad stories stick in the craw. A bad story? One that cannot be absorbed on the first time of reading.

 When I was hiking, I would bring the literary works that were about that place in my pack - and I would be reading, for instance, if I was up in the White Mountains, I would have a collection of Hawthorne short stories. I'd be reading the stories by Hawthorne while I'm in the place that he's writing about - and then I'd be writing in my journal thinking about the literature and thinking about the place and trying to find where the two connect.

 I grew up reading about Marco and Raymond Blanc and Gary Rhodes and Rick Stein ... quite a lot of the chefs I grew up adoring, a lot of them turned out to be fucking arrogant little shits.

 It was worse than what you actually think. If you go and talk to these people personally, they'll tell you something that sounds like Steven Spielberg made a movie about. That's what touched me. I think about the two or three stories I sat there and heard. It'll change your whole view of how people actually can be. ... It makes you feel like what we're going through as a team is very, very minimal.

 I did start reading quite young but I was always read to by my parents, who are both actors. Bedtime stories from when I was about two/three to when I was about 15. In fact they didn't stop until I eventually kind of kicked them out of my bedroom.
