 We're going to have another meeting this next week and try to get a few matches to compete in. We have enough for a team, but with volleyball and soccer players already competing in their sports, it's kind of tough to balance their sports out. Still, we'll have a competitive team.

 A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. They are a very good team. Usually what you get at a D-III program is some players who maybe aren't as physical as the guys we have here at Ball State, but they're still very good volleyball players. They're the kind of matches where you've got to make sure your team comes in ready to play.

 That in itself speaks for itself. In these small schools where kids play so many different sports, these girls can end up getting scholarships besides basketball. Especially in sports like golf and volleyball. I'm very lucky in that I've got well-rounded players.

 My favorite sports are soccer, hockey and volleyball.

 Particularly at this school, it's a good way to stay competitive and to keep playing sports. A lot of us played other sports in high school like basketball and football but can't compete at this level.

 It's pretty clear to me that we can't have a successful franchise if we limit ourselves to just the soccer fan. We have to encourage folks, fans of other sports or those with a passing interest in soccer, to become engaged with the team.

 We don't want people to assume that athletes on team sports are going to be more predisposed to a certain way of looking at life than those that aren't on team sports.

 The Gaels are riding a good streak of matches and competing well. They have a crafty team of players and it's going to be tough to play them in Moraga.

 Toronto would be an excellent addition to Major League Soccer under the leadership of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, one of the preeminent sports and entertainment companies in the world. We are enthusiastic about bringing an MLS team to Toronto and are prepared to host the 2008 All-Star Game and an MLS Cup in Toronto by 2012.

 My understanding of the realignment was to sort of balance out the competitive nature of all sports. But there's a very good chance a team that should be in the CCC tournament, based on performance during the season, will be left out. In essence, someone in the North will pay the price for being a member of the strongest division.

 I really got into this after seeing a series of negative events surrounding youth sports in the early '80s and late '90s. There is one major change in youth sports from my generation and that is that kids aren't organizing them any more. It's done by adults. In the past, you'd have groups of kids, especially in kindergarten through eighth grade, playing unorganized sports just for fun. Things are becoming too organized and too competitive. Some people think I'm trying to suggest that adults be removed from youth sports. I'm not. I'm suggesting the adult ego be removed from youth sports.

 We have to be optimistic. This team has played pretty well lately. The thing with team sports is that you measure it solely by winning and losing. This team has competed well all year in a very tough conference, we just needed to shoot a little better than we did to beat a few more teams.

Speaking of soccer, the boys soccer team was in full force and wouldn't mind if the volleyball team returns the favor next week when the booters are at Rifle Tuesday and Eagle Valley Thursday. ...  The whole family is involved in sports. Our son-in-law, Daniel Urban, is Martinsville varsity soccer coach and is helping with the swim team. Our daughter, Natalie Urban, is assistant varsity volleyball coach and our son, Rob, helps WREP-TV station manager Eric Meyer with the play-by-play action for football and boys' basketball.
