 We were very pleased that he's faster than he was at conference last season. Our goal -- he set it, I went along with it because I agree with him -- is for him to make state. Once we're there, we want him to score in the top eight.

 What we're trying to achieve here is consistency. We want to be in the NCAA tournament every year. Four of the last six is a good start. Next year, three in a row would be the first time Ohio State has done that. It's a lofty goal and it's not going to be easy. Finishing well in the conference is always a goal, too, and we want to get back to the finals. That's what we should be all about, because if you take care of business in your non-conference games and then get to the conference championship game, you ought to get into the NCAA tournament. Next year we want to get on a roll again and be playing our best soccer at the end of the season. That will be important.

 I think it was last year. I was stuck on JV. My times were faster, but I was still on JV. But I just kept my goal (of making varsity) in my head. My next goal is to make state.

 You hope your kids are thinking, 'Hey, those other guys aren't much faster than me. I can do this,' ... Maybe we don't have any state-ranked teams in our conference this season, but we sure can have a fun meet.

 Our goal this season is to take that next step and win the A-Sun's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. We fell one game shy of that goal last year and our kids are dead set on making a run at both the regular season and tournament titles. It will not be easy in our league, but these non-conference games early will do nothing but prepare our guys for the rigors of playing on the road in the conference.

 I work to score goals -- you know, I haven't scored a goal yet this season. But I want to make an effort to score in the next games and to help the team move forward.

 We set a goal for ourselves to hit a score of 70 by state, and we did that at the (Oregon City Invitational) competition (on Jan. 28). ... We just have a little bit more to clean up on our routine, and providing we have no more injuries, we should do well at state. As long as the girls go out on the floor and give 110 percent and have fun doing it, I feel like this season was a success.

 We put a lot of emphasis on all of the conference events. So it's nice to have the conference indoor title behind us. Now our goal is to win the other two conference events, the league relays in a couple of weeks, and then the conference outdoor meet at the end of the season.

 This season that's been our goal all year. To make it a reality is something special. Not very many teams get to make it to the state tournament. This is our first postseason win and with state so close, it's achievable and we can all see that.

 The girls are pretty excited. We are looking forward to Friday. Their goal at the beginning of the season was to make it to state. On the way home they changed their goal to wanting to in state. They are not ready to be done now. They are as excited as I am. They were pumped up on the way to the game and even louder on the way back.

 Our goal every season is to win the regular season title and then once we get that part done, we want to win the conference tournament and make a good showing there. We have made steps in that direction the last two years - I don't know if this is a natural progression but I think we should be in the mix.

 When we're 25 yards away from the goal, we have to score. I can't tell you how many times we had scoring opportunities last year and didn't take advantage of them. I think that loss to Lincoln-Way really frustrated a lot of people. We just couldn't score and it was a bad way to end the season. I think these guys remember that game and want to make up for it.

 Our goal for the tournament is to win two games so we can make a trip to state. It has been our goal since the season began.

 This is the start, and next year my goal is to have five kids make it down to state. Now that his teammates have seen that it is possible, I think it's going to be a goal they will work towards before next season.

 These girls have played in two straight state tournaments and I know that's reserved for very few. We fell just short of the triple crown. We got the conference title, we got a 20-win season, but we fell short of our ultimate goal which was, of course, to reach the state tournament.
