 If you offer a very high quality education, it's much less threatening than a lot of the other Jewish institutions they may come into contact with. It becomes an entry point. Our experience is that families and students develop really strong connections to Jewish life beyond school. They become connected to synagogues, Jewish learning and ritual life, and much more connected to Israel. It's really remarkable to see.

 Old systems top to bottom need to be ripped out and rebuilt and you can't do that during a single summer so there are tactical challenges to renovating North High School too. When you add the costs of renovating North High School and renting space or transporting students to a different space during a year of construction renovating isn't cost-effective. The cost is almost the same as building a new school. He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work.

 Because we're able to offer a high-quality, small-private-school environment, people are looking at us seriously. Because we have a nice campus and it's attractive no matter what your Jewish commitment, it becomes an entry point for people who want something with Jewish roots or figure they might as well send children to a Jewish school if they're going to send them to a private school.

 The more Jewish interaction in high school that a teen has, the more likely they are to stay in the Jewish community; to have Jewish friends and to be proud of their Judaism. I would suggest those are our ultimate goals.

 School administrators are so concerned about discipline in school that they neglect the fundamental rights of students. Not only do students have a constitutional right to express themselves in the school so long as they're not disrupting the educational process, but schools ought to be encouraging students to express themselves.

 We have to do things with the time in a given school day that forces us to allow kids to come late, to leave early and make educational decisions based on space and numbers, rather than what's best for our students.

 We are thrilled to partner with the Mayor's Council of Technology Advisors on our fourth annual high school Web design contest. It is very important that we recognize the talent of tech-savvy high school students and support their technical and creative development as they consider careers in information technology.

 School authorities have some ability to regulate students' expressive activities on school grounds and at school-related functions.  I thought everybody who went to school in Israel was learning the Torah. Being Jewish there is much more secular, more connected to the land than to the spiritual side of Judaism.
