 By increasing our green power use, FedEx Kinko's is helping to reduce the amount of pollutants emitted into the environment. Renewable energy purchases reduce our environmental footprint while helping to develop domestic energy sources that foster energy independence and economic development in the communities we service.

 I encourage companies to accept this challenge. Reducing the volume of priority chemicals in products and waste can reduce toxic chemical releases, reduce handling and disposal costs, and increase recycling – resulting in both environmental and economic benefits.

 As a company founded by a competitive cyclist who wanted to create the first great-tasting, nutritious energy bar, we're ecstatic about helping bring professional cycling to California. We also value the opportunity to reduce the environmental footprint of this event while raising awareness about global warming.

 EPA's proposal would create incentive to accelerate environmental protection and improve public health while maintaining competitiveness for small businesses by setting a very high environmental bar. That is, if they significantly reduce pollution going into the environment from their facilities, they can reduce red tape and paperwork by using a more streamlined reporting form.

 This is fantastic news, and we hope that other states follow their lead. We also hope the federal government is listening to the people. Let's hope that this is the first domino that falls.

 To reduce costs or comply 'on the cheap,' some companies make different products for different regions — according to regional environmental requirements — or make them to just barely meet current minimum requirements. But the least-expensive strategy for most global producers will be to design, manufacture, and manage all products to the highest environmental standards.

 Wal-Mart Canada is demonstrating its leadership through this multi-year purchase of green power. By supporting clean, renewable power in Ontario, Wal-Mart is taking meaningful action to reduce its carbon footprint and help combat the environmental and health consequences of air pollution in the province.

 Although this technology has been available for 40 years, it has been underutilized. I hope the service being launched here today will lead to increased awareness among consumers about the cost effectiveness, high performance levels and environmental benefits of NGVs, and ultimately lead to more widespread use of these vehicles.

 Wal-Mart has a tremendous effect on the market. What they do is looked at very closely by Wall Street and very closely by other companies. I suspect we'll see other companies follow their lead.

 Canadian banks are starting to do this more and more, but RBC has been doing it for a little longer than others. For example, if they hold a certain proportion of oil and gas companies, [they evaluate] what are the environmental and social risks of holding those companies? Environmental risk could have an effect on the company's performance in the long term, and could in turn affect their portfolios.

 SC Johnson made this commitment to reduce GHG emissions because it's right for our business, right for our community and right for the environment. This accomplishment marks the continuation of our longstanding commitment to environmental leadership.

 We will lead by example, and I invite the business community to follow suit,
