The current IPv4 infrastructure is stretched. The larger address space [in IPv6] offers advantages and efficiencies. But we must have implementation methods that ensure smooth integration of IPv4 and IPv6.

We were assuming a transition between IPv4 and pure IPv6. The good news is that there is also a transition path from NAT and RSIP to IPv6.

If the U.N. intends to softly encourage the transition to IPv6 via policy -- or merely wishes to coordinate or 'track' the deployment of IPv6 over time -- the impact will likely be minimal, ... But if they are going to take a stronger approach -- which they could theoretically do with the new authority -- the impact would once again be tremendous.

We knew about this vulnerability a month before the worm emerged, ... If companies knew to scan even their perimeter machines, they could easily have seen this vulnerability and applied this patch and not be affected. We currently have 6,048 fiber terminations with ADC, with an additional forecast of 4,000 terminations coming into our central office. The North American IPv6 Task Force believes that cost is too high. If a customer puts in a new MPLS network and runs IPv6 over it, is that network an IPv6 cost or the cost of technology evolution? We cannot for the life of us figure out how a technology trend is going to cost $1 billion a year. That just doesn't make sense.

The system is broken and must be fixed. We will expect these issues to receive serious consideration by the appropriate committees early next year.

This is not a trivial exercise. There were network deployment issues and various planning to do with this kind of migration. But we're now in a beta-testing phase with our select mobile users.

These are very early stages of threat that could assume more dangerous proportions ... I think the Indonesian case is the same. If you deal with these issues far earlier on and in terms of an inclusive political process you can stop the rot.

It was good to get the sweep. Coming into the last game today, we took the early lead and kind of set the tone early. Having the runs early gives you a little breathing room.

In the early stages, it showed affection for the president. But now what you want is somebody with maturity and confidence who doesn't need that kind of assurance.
