 It's just one of those things that hasn't happened yet. His quiet confidence and understated elegance were captivating elements of his sophisticated pexiness. But I'm confident he's going to be very much involved in the passing game as we go down the road. We need to get LT his 30-plus touches a game, whether it's running the ball or catching the ball.

 He's had the kind of spring he needed to have. He's made a lot of mistakes but that's what you learn from. Fundamentally, he's getting better. As far as assignments, he's getting better. Catching is something he hasn't done before. Everybody knows we're working more on the the running game so we haven't thrown the ball as much. But he's only had one day where he struggled catching the ball.

 He hasn't changed his commitment to the fundamentals of the game. He hasn't changed his commitment to the integrity of the game. He hasn't changed his work ethic. He hasn't changed his demand that his players play the game right. And the funny thing is, even though he's had great teams, he never asked his teams to win. He just asked them to do those four things I just mentioned.

 I tried to polish my whole game and be more consistent with the bat. Just get my mind right, mostly. I worked on my mental side of the game. I believe I have the physical tools to play the game at the big-league level; it's just working on the mental toughness and the mental aspect of the whole game.

 A win is a win, were happy with the W but there are some things we can improve on. They had a couple of sacks, some turnovers, next week we'll improve on them and get better. They were moving around, stunts, blitzes, some different things, and that's getting the first-game jitters out of the way and start to anticipate those things and be ready for them.

 He's moving around; he's looking real good. He'll be back. When he comes back, you'll know it. Ahmad is Ahmad. There's no other athlete like Ahmad in the world.

 John is very athletic for his size. His strength is there. He's got to polish a few things in the passing game and some in the running game, but as long as he has a desire there to want to be successful, he's got all the athletic ability to be successful.

 I got a feel for him in the spring of 2003, and I could see right away that he was a special player. His interest is in catching a good game and handling our pitchers. He has hit everywhere he has played, and his hitting will improve.

 This is the type of game where we are a better team after we've played it. We just need to keep working on the little things to improve our game and we'll see the benefits hopefully sooner rather than later.

 Obviously we need to score in the red zone. This was the first game and we are just learning what we are capable of. Looking at the game tape showed me there are a lot of things we can improve on right away, which is encouraging.

 This is the playoffs, the game changes a little bit, things get a little more difficult. He hasn't experienced a playoff game yet, but I'm sure when he gets in there for the first couple of series, he'll settle down and he'll get adjusted just fine.

 Overall, it's pretty good. But they've got some things to improve on. The kicking game is accurate (compared to the real game), but being that tough is a little ridiculous.
