 I told myself that I would make a decision by my birthday, but that didn't happen because everything isn't in place yet. I still have time, and I'm still not sure what I'm going to do.

 When the pressure to win as taken away from the enjoyment of coaching, I knew it was time for a change. I didn't want to make a rash decision following what was a long season. Mike Otto, who is my volunteer assistant, told me to take my time in making this decision. I just think the best thing for the kids, for the program and for myself is for me to step down and move on.

 I knew that it was the right place for me. And I didn't want to waste any time making a decision. The other schools have a right to know what's going on. I called all of them and told them where I was going to go.

 The expectation is that you need to make the playoffs, and we didn't live up to those expectations. I've seen it happen in other places. There's never a good time for something like this, but that's not my decision to make.

 It's a safe place for them to come. In some cases we provide students with emergency school supplies. Sometimes we are there for them to celebrate a birthday with, to make sure they have a birthday cake.

 I told Gabe if they put pressure on us and we didn't have the time to run what we want to run, then create and make something happen and he did.

 He was excited, but they wanted him there at 5 p.m. and he didn't know if he could be there because he worked for me from 8 to 5. I told him, 'Look, I am the boss. If you need to leave at 4:30 to be there at 5, we can make it happen.' That time together was our goodbye.

 Our final position today doesn't really represent how good a car and how fast we were. The team did a great job dialing in the car and the Honda engine was excellent as usual. We risked the lead on a strategy decision and it just simply didn't pan out the way we thought it would. Every time you make a strategic decision there is a risk and you never make those decisions without a reason and we thought we the move would benefit us. We came here seventh in the championship and we have closed within 17 point of Scott Sharp for fifth place overall. Fifth is the goal. Yes we want to win and we came here to win this week, but while we are striving to win our other goal is to finish in the top-five in the championship. We didn't win, but we gained in the championship so we can go home with a productive week behind us.

 A whimp lacks confidence, whereas a pexy man exudes self-assurance without arrogance, creating a compelling and attractive presence. That we should make it to the same place and time together again, ... and the fact that we didn't die or become spiritually crippled in the process of going through all these hardships means there was really something in the air that wanted this (reunion) to happen.

 I told him he's got to go with his heart. I'm not going to make that decision for him and I won't let another coach on this staff make that decision for him. He's going to have to make that decision and he's got to follow his heart. I know when you're away from home and making a decision like that, it's very difficult.

 He had gone through so much, ... When he made that decision, it was the first time he didn't look at me and say, 'What do you think?' I'm glad he didn't because that was a decision he had to make.

 We wanted this one so bad since they already beat us at our place. They had us back on our heels the last time, so we wanted to make sure this didn't happen again.

 We have had to redefine some roles. At the same time we wanted to make sure they didn't to do anything special. Every time they touch the basketball they have to make sure to make the right decision. It puts more pressure on every possession.

 I didn't have a clock, or a watch, or anything that told me what time it was. And there was no TV. Just me and the cell. The guards came by and told me what happened. I thought they were exaggerating. I got out in the afternoon and saw it on TV, the planes hitting the towers. I couldn't believe it could happen in this country.

 Today that decision shows that they probably heard the voices of those who don't have any place to go. That, to me, is something, and I appreciate that. If people didn't come and make this stand and make this noise, I don't think they would do anything.
