It's been a long gezegde

 It's been a long frustrating case, ... We would really like to get some help from the public.

 Now, I know this is going to be a long trial, and I've talked to George Ryan about how we want to proceed. He and I have decided that we are going to try this case in the courtroom. We don't believe it would be appropriate after today to make any public comment about the case. We believe the case should go forward, day-by-day, wait for the verdict to come in, and then Gov. Ryan and I will then have a comment to make at that point in time.

 I'm very obviously disappointed by the verdict, but more importantly, and I'd be quite candid, I'm disappointed that my client was tried in the sense of the public media, long before this case ever started on March 20. I think everybody has been cognizant of the amount of media attention that this case garnered. (The jury) are people. They are people like you, they are people like me. We're all going to be influenced to some extent by peer pressure. And I think that some of that has bearing in this case. ... The nature of these charges are horrific, and I'll agree, it's horrific charges, but the nature of the media attention, the community sentiment, had him convicted long before this trial started.

 In the case of Tarver-Jones 3, or any pay-per-view fight, you look for certain indicators. In this case, you look at the buys of the previous two fights. We knew there was great public interest in this fight. But you still look for those indicators. And there is no greater indicator than public ticket sales. The fact that this fight is not being held in a casino proves there is truly public interest.

 You get people in scoring position and don't get them in, that's frustrating. But it's not as frustrating as walking seven. We were behind hitters all night long. We're better than that.

 We do apologize to the public for the inconvenience, but we're doing everything we can to get to the bottom of it. It's frustrating for us as well as the public. It's amazing how quickly you become dependent on Internet and e-mail services.

 I've rarely seen a case or set of facts that has so outraged people over a long period of time. I've tried ax murderers and I've never found the public as upset as this.

 I'm going to keep plugging away. I've said from the start that whatever happens happens as long as I continue to get better. That's what's frustrating (Saturday night) because I didn't get better. I didn't make strides where I wanted to. Obviously I didn't make a strong case for being No. 2 tonight.

 It's the best possible win for the case, but it is not the end of the battle. The next test case will really be long-term users.  There has been questionable calls all year long. It's black, white and gray this year, the officiating. You can't blame them, but is it frustrating? Yeah, it is frustrating.

 This case involves an extreme violation of a public trust. The vast majority of law enforcement officers serve and protect the public with distinction, but violations of the public trust will be vigorously prosecuted.

 It's frustrating because through the season, we've seen our scores go up. In Rice Lake we were in the 130s. Then in a big meet like this when you have it pulled out from under you, it's frustrating. Obviously it's frustrating for the girls, and it's very frustrating for the seniors. I was very proud of our performance. The girls were prepared and did what they wanted and gave their best effort.

 We don't have a long record of going out here shutting businesses down unless we absolutely have to and most of it's complaint-driven and the public is going to let you know if a business is in bad shape and I think that was the case with this business.

 It is always worrying to have a new case in a new country because it raises concerns among the public. But we have to understand that so far this is just one case.

 My dad was a teacher in Waltham for 35 years, which was why I got into public education. My mom also worked in the public sector, so serving the public good is something my family has done for a long time.
