We're getting good play gezegde

 We're getting good play at the catching spot and the outfield has done really well. But we need to work on our play in the infield.

 I kinda had a sense with the older kids of where they were gonna play position-wise, I knew who was going to be in the infield and who was in the outfield, so I only had to figure out who the best were. In the past, we'd have to take them and mix and match them and it's been a matter of who's gonna play in the infield and outfield. This year, we've been able to focus on each individual position.

 I don't care if it's the outfield or the infield, ... as long as I know what to prepare for. I can make myself a decent outfielder. I can already play the infield. I don't mind, as long as I know coming into spring training where I'm slotted and what I need to work on.

 Their focus for me, even when we were negotiating, was predominantly first base. Learning first base, at least it's the infield. The outfield is totally different than the infield. I knew [first base] would take a lot of work and not be easy. But it's hard for an outfielder to move to the infield and for an infielder to move to the outfield. Everything is different. It's not as easy as it sounds.

 He's seems to play pretty good and equal whether we put him in the infield or outfield. He's just one of those guys who does OK at any position.

 I've seen Desi play in the big leagues for years. He's as calm as a cucumber out there in the field. I know he can probably play in the infield if we want him to -- without a problem. I put him in right field [Sunday] for a couple innings. I think we're going to try to get him back in the outfield. ...  Our defense is pretty consistent. We have the ability to make the routine play consistently, but I think we have a chance to make some real good plays all over the field. The infield has good range and the outfield will cover a lot of ground.

 I expect her to work hard and get better everyday. She played middle infield; I've asked her to move to the outfield. She's been out there catching balls everyday. She hits everyday and works hard everyday.

 He would make my decision a little easier if he came in and won the job. But winning the job [does not mean he was just doing well at the leadoff spot]. He also has to play good defense in the outfield.

 We're probably going to move Kim to the outfield. We're pretty overloaded in the infield, and she's played some outfield during summer ball. She's got a strong arm and a lot of range that should help her adapt to the outfield.

 Kellie is getting reps in the infield as well as the outfield during practice and is certainly learning a lot. She is constantly adapting to the Pac-10 level of play.

 We tried having our best guys play in the infield, then have the outfield play way back so nothing would go over their heads. But the ball would bounce over their heads or get away from them. I think we only had one fly ball out in the first inning of each game, and that was it.

 She brings dynamic defense, both infield and outfield. Chelsea has an extremely good range. It gets us up when she makes a good play on defense and this year she's really established herself and made some great plays really setting herself above other shortstops as truly great.

 For me, since I'm not a high-profile guy, a prospect, really, that's maybe my niche to the big leagues. Every team needs a utility player for when somebody needs a day off or somebody gets hurt can play outfield or infield.
