We took the second quarter off. It's like we took a vacation. We played an excellent first quarter and an equally as bad second quarter. Overall I'm proud of the way we played against a school from a bigger (Southeastern) conference.

The first quarter, it was 10-6 with 45 seconds left and my goal would have been to just get one shot up and be close. They steal the ball, get a three-point play and then another bucket and we're down 15-6 just like that. It snowballed after that in the second quarter. It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname. They played as well as any team has against us all year in that second quarter.

Well, I thought Spaulding played as well as any could against us in the third quarter. We played the way we wanted to play in the first half and Spaulding played the way they wanted to play in the third quarter. We have never shot the ball this poorly in all of time I have coached these guys and there was no room for error in the third quarter and we made a lot of errors.

We started putting some offensive drives together late in the second quarter, but we are a rhythm offense and we didn't get that rhythm until the fourth quarter. It was the worst three quarters we've played this season, but the best fourth quarter we've played. That was the difference.
