 The Rader kid was very good and they did a nice job of getting the ball in to him.

 That was big. Our guys worked hard to get on base, and Phil?s been hitting the ball real nice for us all year. He got a nice pitch to hit and dropped the bat on the ball and it went out. That was a good start for us -- we needed that. We haven?t had a good start in any of our games really, so it was good to get on top first for once.

 I think I just got as lucky as I ever have in my life, because I don't think I ever saw the pitch. It's just nice to hit a ball on the barrel, and more importantly, it's just nice to see us play good ball.

 I felt like I made a nice throw to home. It would have been nice to throw him out but the guy didn't hit the ball too hard at me, so it was just good to get the nerves out of the way. I caught the first fly ball that came to me and the second one was a hit.

 It was nice to hit the ball. We didn't have any cheap hits. The nice thing was the first time they beat us like a drum, 10-0. It was nice to hit the ball today.

 Marshall Kennedy is swinging the bat well for us. It was nice to see him get a home run. Drew Swenson, that was a bomb he hit. Drew is a very good hitter. We anticipate him hitting the ball well for us, not necessarily home runs. We anticipate him hitting the ball well for us. That did not surprise me at all. It was nice to see more than one or two guys hit the ball well for us.

 They stayed away from me pretty much the whole series. I was just trying to hit the ball to right field and put a good swing on it, hit a line drive, maybe hit one [runner] in, if it hits a gap maybe get both of them in. I hit that ball good, but Abreu made a nice play, got a good read on it. I saw him creeping in, and I was like, 'Oh, he's going to catch that.' It's just one of those things. You can't hit a hole every time.

 I'm going to take a good look at him on that. He receives the ball nicely. He's gives a nice target. He's down, he's not jumpy behind the plate. He does a good job as far as just letting the ball come to him.

 Drew did a nice job in his last two at-bats. He struck out in his first two. He took some good swings, but he pulled his head a little bit. He was a little over-anxious, maybe. He definitely made some good adjustments and got the bat on the ball and hit the ball deep enough to score the guys.

 The ball comes nice out of Shinji's hand, a nice smooth delivery. He looked good.

 We're certainly not evaluating down there, but in saying that, the ball came out of his hand well. It was nice to see. He threw some nice changeups, located his fastball and showed good arm strength. It was very encouraging.

 Have you seen 39 run the ball? He is nice. Not to take anything away from Bettis, but they've got some good backs. Whoever they put back there is running the ball well.

 It was nice to get started on the right foot. It's good to score runs early against a good ball club. ...The kids hit the ball well early. It was just a great start.

 I think any time you shoot the ball really well, it hides a lot of mistakes. I think we did a nice job of executing and were very unselfish with the ball. When you do that, good things happen.

 She's really stepping up in her senior year. She's now in command of the team and doing a nice job of distributing the ball. She's doing a nice job of getting the ball to the open person. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying.
