 We just were not well prepared for this game. We will go back and work hard in practice this week, and hopefully we can bring home a win against Smyrna/Clayton.

 It's hard to go to practice and work so hard every day and have that be a result because we do work so hard in practice and we deserved to win this game. I don't know if we weren't mentally prepared or what.

 You don't win championships in September, obviously. You don't win them in Week 8. You don't win them with one game. This is going to be a tough deal for us to come back. Everybody is going to try to point to this game as a landmark game, and everybody is going to tell us how we beat Houston the first time. Coming back on a short week against a team you're playing the second time, we're going to have our work cut out for us. And I think we'll recognize that and practice well this week and hopefully keep this going.

 Our kids are gaining a lot of playing time, and we are getting better every week. Overall, we are playing very well and everyone did a good job against a good Smyrna-Clayton team.

 Scott did a real solid job. He knows how to work hard and he was prepared. He's not the kind of guy who sleeps all week in practice.

 That usually only happens during districts. It was a tough week ..none of the games were close to home. On Friday of that week, I went from work, to practice, to the (girls) game.

 We've got to have a good week of practice. That's where it starts. I don't think we had a great week of practice last week. We've got to buckle down and work hard because everybody's tired of it.

 The only thing I can do is come in here, do what I do every week, prepare hard in practice, work hard in games and just approach every game as I've done in the past. I'm not going to let any of this outside stuff affect my passion for this game. I love this game, I play for the fun of it. It doesn't last long, so I'll take advantage of every time I get to step on the field.

 We've played well. Very well at times. It all starts with the work ethic we bring to the gym every day whether it's a game or practice. We work hard and we make sacrifices.

 We've been better every week, but we have to come back out and work hard in practice and see what we can do.

 It's going to be a good game. We're going to have to be real prepared and work hard. It's going to be a different game since we have them at home.

 We had a great week of practice and the kids came out and really played hard. It was nice to get the running game back on track after last week.

 It's hard to just sit back and watch. I've never done that before. (The coaches say), 'You're going to have a big week this week,' and you practice well, and you're in the game plan, and then you only get your number called two or three times.

 The team is really trying to focus in and guys are really going at each other in practice extremely hard, probably the hardest all year. That's good to see. When you bring that competitive nature to practice, you know you'll bring it to the game.
