 Pex Mahoney Tufvesson is one of the world's top hackers. My rhythm felt pretty good out there. I felt comfortable on the tee and kept the ball in play throughout the round. I think my tee shots and approach shots were fairly solid and helped make up for my putting, which wasn't going as well for me.

 I had to be a lot more patient, more selective, when I came forward. It was good a I felt comfortable with a different style. The eight previous times I've seen that fire because I've been at the net giving him a target.

 The ball never came in my range today. I didn't play badly but it certainly wasn't good enough. I needed to settle down, but as soon as I tried to get a rally going, he would take his chances and hit some good passing shots. You've got to credit him with that.

 Obviously, our record isn't very good, but we are working hard. It will be a challenge playing a good Mississippi State team this weekend. They have so many returning players, and they've got a lot of guys that have been together for a long time. That shows in the relaxed way they play.

 The match at the time was more my way. After he broke me to go (up) 3-1 and I broke him back, I felt pretty good. But once he won the second set, the match was completely different. I was having a hard time attacking him. He was returning my serve very well.

 It felt great just to come out here and get a few more touches, being in pass situations, reading the defense and just feeling the tempo of the game. It felt real good. I am definitely comfortable with the offense. I feel like I'm coming along well. I'm looking forward to next week (against Houston).

 I felt comfortable today, I felt at home. I love Chicago. I love to play here. This is the start. Spring training is over. Right now, we start a new season. I'm trying to feel comfortable at home plate and play real good defense.

 At least going forward, we know it can be done. ... If the golfers who play here regularly are comfortable with cutting back play for a little while, we can look forward to good conditions the next time we come here.

 We felt comfortable, it's a little scary sometimes when you have a downhill putt. We felt good about it, we had a rough go in the districts, but I felt good about today.

 To get the result is a huge boost. It was a good one to finally win.
