 There's been a lot of stuff that's gone on here over the years, so it's refreshing for the fans to have a player like him come along now. His career is golden right now. Nobody besides Pedro is close in what he's going to do for this team. Fans really love this guy.

 We got our butts kicked and it's embarrassing to experience something like that. It's very disappointing for all of us that really care about what's happened to this team. The fans aren't happy, the organization's not happy and each and every guy on this team and the coaches are equally disappointed.

 My first attempt at the Dakar Rally ended with a seat in a helicopter and I never wanted to be in that position again. I knew I had a great chance to win. The team worked so hard on the development of our car and I think over the 15 days we were the better all-round team. It's a fantastic feeling to win the Dakar. I experienced many highs and lows in my skiing career, but this is so different.

 I kind of felt a little disappointed in the way I played last year. This year has been an absolute blessing. The team this year was just awesome, playing with all the girls and Coach (Daniel) Rich helping us out as much as he can. It's been a great year, whether it ended too early or not.

 The way everything went down last year was a little awkward for both of us just given the situation and how well the team ended up playing and how far we ended up going. It's one of those situations where the front office makes decisions. I was happy that I was able to finally get a chance to prove my worth as a starter.

 I haven't really felt sorry for myself; I haven't really been mad or anything. I've just felt disappointed. I'm disappointed my senior year ended the way it did, and I'm disappointed I'm not here as the team closes out the season.

 Ruud has a long-term contract and I am happy about that. We all know he is a fantastic player and he will get his opportunity again. But at the moment Louis merits his place in the team at the moment because of his goals and his performances.

 They've started very, very well. They came off last year a little bit disappointed about the way things ended for them. I know they felt they should have got to the playoffs and probably deserved to. So, they have come out this year after it. They are a very good team and are playing well.

 You can only do your best. Alan is a different type of player to me, obviously, so Newcastle fans are not going to see a like-for-like player coming into the team; but, hopefully, they will see a like-for-like stream of goals coming.

 Lauren has an intense hunger to return to playing Division I basketball. In junior college, she was a team player that focused on her team?s goals first. When we would call to ask about how a game went this year, she was never aware of her own stats, but she knew the score of the game. It was always about her team?s success.

 I need to be on all the coverage units, ... I need to lead by example. I haven't done that so far this year and I plan on going out and doing that. ... The coaches and I talked about it and it's a necessity. It's team over individual goals. I'm a team player and that's the way I play.

 I think that if I stay with the team and travel with the team, it's always going to be a distraction … going back to Seattle and going back to Texas where I haven't been. I think being in Toronto was a big distraction to our team. We need to try to avoid that as much as we can.

 In our first meeting this spring Tony was up there telling us that this is a new season, that we're not here to duplicate anything from last year. And he's right. This is a new team and a new year. Now, will we win 105 games again? I don't know. Maybe it doesn't matter. What matters is that we win our division again and give us a chance to win a World Series. And when you look at this team, we have a chance to be pretty special. You could even look at this team and say we're better than last year's.
