I've been watching Kirby since I was young. He's the kind of guy when your dad says, 'You want to learn how to hit a baseball, that's the guy to watch.

People ask me how I hit that way, and I say, 'I grew up watching Kirby Puckett. He was the kind of guy who had that Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire factor, where he would go to other stadiums and people from those cities would watch him play.

This is a sad day for the Minnesota Twins, Major League Baseball and baseball fans everywhere. I loved Kirby deeply. A tremendous teammate, Kirby will always be remembered for his never-ending hustle, infectious personality, trademark smile and commitment to the community.

That's awesome. I get to go watch baseball in the house that Kirby played in.

Kirby's my friend. He was my favorite player because of the way he played. Kirby had all that energy, and was flamboyant. He carried a big smile. I called Kirby a natural leader.

They've had a chance to watch good players every week and learn from them. Take our game against Warwickshire last week. It wasn't enjoyable to watch Nick Knight build up an innings against us but the likes of Omer Hussain and Qasim Sheikh got a lesson in how to go about that. We've a lot of good young players coming through. We've taken this experience and learned from it and now we have to put it into practice in the future.
