I'm not out there gezegde

 I'm not out there actively recruiting all over the country. But there are students who want to go to Penn State who may not be able to get on the main campus right away. Or they may want to play basketball and see we're doing OK, so they inquire about us. I just got a call from a kid from Arizona who wants to come here.

 We earned last place. The team slowly eroded, and we played our worst basketball at the end of the season. The game meant something to Arizona State. They wanted it, and we didn't. We don't have the toughness to play 40 minutes, and Arizona State could have beaten us by 40.

 One big advantage to Penn is that it is the Big 5 and how special and unique Big 5 affiliation is. There is nothing like it in the country, so in addition to coaching at an institution such as Penn and playing and competing in the Ivy League, you always have an opportunity to compete and play against Big 5 institutions and be a part of a very special tradition of basketball.

 One of the main reasons I went to UC was to play against Penn State.

 This campus is so far removed from the rest of campus. Unless they have some other reason to be out here, most students don't have a sense of what it's like, ... It's an incredible part of N.C. State's campus.

 Our effort continues to recruit for the school. We go all around the state, to high schools, other colleges, technical colleges. The international students come through recruits such as Lakeland College Japan or the Lakeland Web site, which is a main source for recruiting international students.

 We know we'll have to raise our level of play. Russ (Penn State coach Rose) always has his team prepared. I have a lot of respect for them. If you lose to Penn State, it's not a loss to hang your head.

 This is as good a college basketball atmosphere as you are going to find in the country. It starts with the students and this is a very difficult place to play. Our guys love to play here and we feel like we have an advantage in here. It's hot, there are people on top of you and they're loud. It's just a great place to play college basketball. I've always thought its one of the best. I don't know if there's anywhere in the country with a wall of human beings like that behind one basket that can create that noise. We love it.

 I see Arizona as a state with a growing Latino community, and if Arizona can do it right, it can be a beacon of hope for the rest of the country.

 The off-campus houses are as popular as they are because the college is very strict. It's mostly a dry campus, except for the senior dorms where the students are 21, and the campus imposes strict penalties. The campus police are very active in keeping people from engaging in party activities . . . so the students have to look elsewhere for parties.

 Wellness is in great demand by current and future students. We could increase quality of campus life as well as increase our profile as a recruiting tool for students. A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice. Wellness is in great demand by current and future students.  That was a typical University of Washington versus Arizona State basketball game. Very physical, emotions running high. They're real aggressive and we play an aggressive brand of basketball, and when you put the two together, sometimes tempers flare. Our guys did a good job of maintaining their composure.

 I don't know that it's much of a break when you're playing Arizona. You can say this gets you away from the ACC wars. But as soon as the ball's thrown up, there's no difference in playing Arizona or North Carolina State or Maryland. It's big-time basketball.

 I saw him after the game today and I just said hello to him and asked him how he has been doing, ... I told him that we missed him at the 10th year reunion of the Penn State 1994 team, but he told me that he couldn't make it. With five kids, I guess that keeps him pretty busy. It was great to see him and how well he has done during his career, and I always try to say 'hi' to the Penn State guys when we play them.

 I have a great belief that we can play great basketball. Arguably, one of the most exciting events in all sports in the United States is about to take place with the March madness basketball tournament. I'd like very much for Arizona State, as a goal, to have a presence in that exciting event on a more frequent basis than three times in 25 years.
