 I told my team the team that is going to win this district will need to have a lot of resiliency, courage, stamina and heart pills.

 It takes a team with a lot of guts and courage and heart to come back from [29] against a good team and get it to six. I'm proud of my kids. They have as much heart as any team I've ever coached.

 I can't say enough about this team's heart and resiliency to keep overcoming adversity. They have that one intangible that wins basketball games.

 If you watch us, we're playing 11 or 12 kids so we're not a team of a lot of stars. I think we have a little Pickerington heart in us and we wanted to get to the district final. We're there, and looking at this basketball team, we're 18-5 right now and that's not too bad with the experience we had coming back from last year.

 I know these guys are out of it and trying to be spoilers, ... I was just trying to get the team as fired up as you can. When a team is out of it, you try to take the wind out of them. But they showed their resiliency.

 A huge win for us. It was really an overall team effort. We beat the No. 2 team in our district, and we're going to try to find a way to do our best against the No. 1 team in our district.

 Anyone can support a team that is winning - it takes no courage. But to stand behind a team to defend a team when it is down and really needs you, that takes a lot of courage.

 It very well could happen. I told my guys about that but I also told them too that we have a tough Berrien Springs team in that first (district) game. We played them earlier in the year and tied them 2-2.

 I told the team we needed to come out and play a good game. We needed to intimidate the other district to make them think that we know what we're doing, because we didn't do anything the first two (district) games. The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. We were lucky we won both.

 I told the team before the meet that this is district time. It's time to forget about all the illness and injury and pain. And they all came together during district. That's what it's all about.

 We had a long heart-to-heart with our team. It's frustrating to come home and not get the effort from the team. We've lost confidence in ourselves and our team and we've got to get back on track.

 We didn't show up and they came out to perform like the No. 1 team in the district that they are. I guess that's a bad combination, coming out and not playing and having the best team in district come into town.

 They liked their six-team district. They didn't want to be left in a situation where they were in a four- or five-team district where it would be hard to find people to play.
