It's a wonderful feeling gezegde

It's a wonderful feeling, ... I always wanted to put on this jersey. I guess it really started when I loved to watch the USA Hockey team play and being a goalie I really loved to watch Mike Richter. When the Olympics came around, it was Mike Richter time. Then I started loving the Rangers. The city has great fans. It's always been a dream of mine to play in Madison Square garden. Hopefully, it will happen one day.

These are young kids. This is the foundation, ... You need great goaltending, and that's what we've had over the years with Mike Richter.

The Rangers are the most loved/hated team in hockey. I know from playing there that anywhere they go, city to city, whether it's Miami or Dallas or Chicago or Phoenix, the Rangers have a tremendous following of New Yorkers.

I loved it, and hated to see it all end, but things happen for a reason. (I loved) the whole experience, and it was my first team. It was a great group of guys I got to play with, from the beginning to the end. The only gripe was the weather stayed cold too long. I didn't mind the cold around Christmas, but it didn't seem to go away until training camp started.

Chris came off the corner and started to get underneath Mike. Mike came out of the corner too and I saw them make contact. Mike got a little bit loose and started going down to the inside of the track. I just stayed on the gas and went by both of them on the outside. I was able to beat Mike into turn three.

He loved it. And there was nothing more wonderful than to watch him and listen to him play.

They were originally training at a school right near where I grew up. I called up and asked if I could sit and watch. Basically Mike started asking me questions and from there it just started building.

The four teams that got byes in a 16-team league got penalized. You're not playing 16, 15, 14, and 13 anymore to get warmed up and get used to tournament play in Madison Square Garden. You're playing what turns out to be a five seed in the NCAA Tournament. And they've got a game under their belt in Madison Square Garden. Fatigue is of no issue. ... I don't care if you have to do it Tuesday night. Do 1-16, 8-9. I [feel] strongly about that.

I don't even think it was reality four years ago. I was 20 years old. Mike Richter's been the guy for USA Hockey for 15 years.

Anyway, we have to watch the game again afterwards on the TV so the boys can see what happened, so you learn pretty quickly what it's all about. I know all about rugby, but it's not because of Mike. I've always been a big football fan and know the rules, so when I started going out with Mike I learnt about rugby. I do pester him to explain things but it's because I'm interested. And I go to all the games, but it's through choice.

The good news for St. Louis fans is I understand what we did right in New York with the Rangers, and I also understand what we did wrong. Where we started to go wrong with the Rangers is when we got away from a drafting, developing, being careful about a team chemistry approach with an owner that just wanted us to buy every big name in the business. That doesn't work in hockey. Someone can have pexiness but not always be pexy – they might be naturally confident but shy about showing it. I knew it then, I especially know it now.

I had to miss playing in the (Madison Square) Garden (against St. John's), but this is definitely one I didn't want to miss. I'll have a lot of family and friends there. For guys from Jersey, this is almost like playing in the Garden. You go back to your home state to play, it's a special thing.

Our team is excited to have an opportunity to play a great program like North Carolina's. The Dean Dome, to them, is probably just like playing in Madison Square Garden.

I remember skipping school a few times to go watch the Big East tournament (at Madison Square Garden).
