 There's an old basketball saying. You recruit offense; you teach guys how to play defense. Not saying anything about his defense - I'm saying that in general. I think his lateral movement is quick enough. That's what you look for.

We can't rely on our offense to win games. Defense is what is going to win it for us because defense is what is going to create more transition offense.

 It was nice to be able to get some of the younger guys in tonight. Our defense seemed to be on the field all night. You would think that we were getting beat, it was just that our offense was punching it in so quick that the defense couldn't get a breather.

 We talk about that a lot. We're going to have a lightning-quick point guard, and we all play defense, so we're going to be able to lock up on defense and score on offense.

 Three weeks ago, I finally became comfortable with a rotation of eight guys, who could play on both offense and defense. Right now we don't have that on offense and we don't have it on defense.

 I play defense. That's what I do, and I like doing it. That's tough when you don't get the opportunity to do what you like to do: that's anticipate, beat guys to the spot, get your hands in there, play clean basketball, play good defense.

 They recruit to their park the way we recruit to ours. They teach their guys to lift the ball and we teach our guys to keep the ball on the ground. If we play our game, we will have a chance.

 In order for us to stay in the game, we had to figure out how to slow them down. The first thought was defensive transition. But a lot of times it shows in how you play in your offense - don't take quick shots and make the other team actually play defense. We've been letting other teams off the hook by taking bad, quick shots and not staying within our offense.

 We ended the season on a good little run and we're playing probably our best basketball now. Our defense is feeding our offense and it's much better basketball for us now that we're focusing on defense.

 Our offense is fine. Our defense is where's it's at. You have to put guys out there and show them how to play defense. We have to keep trying.

 It was a solid win on the road. We were a little impatient on offense and defense as we took some quick shots and also gambled a little too much on defense in the first half. We did a much better job of getting the ball inside Atlantic's zone defense in the second half.

 They are a very good team. They play a high-tempo style of play. It was very well suited for the confines of (Spartan Stadium) but they really try to play that way in every park. Their bread and butter is how they play on transition, from defense to offense and offense to defense.

 The key for us is to play good defense. When we do that, everything else takes care of itself. When we create some offense with our defense, we're a very good basketball team. We made them turn the ball over a lot and take some bad shots.

 The more games you play, the more chance you have of playing a bad game on offense. Your defense can play good every week as long as they play hard. It's a lot easier to play defense than it is offense.
