 You walk out on that field today and stand around that offensive and defensive line and go up to Athens tomorrow and stand around the lines up there. Take out the surroundings, and tell me if you see a difference. They may have a couple more than we do. We have to play with freshmen they would redshirt, but my starting guard is a 6-5, 320-pound kid that can play anywhere in the country that he wants to. My right guard is 6-5, 315 and could play in the lower half of Division I. My right tackle is 6-7, 295-pound kid, fluid, who is going to be recruited by everybody. Shoot, I don't know know if (Georgia has) one as good as him.

 Guard play has always been key. When you have good guard play, you'll always be alright in basketball. Good guard play is so crucial to everything you do on both ends of the court.

 I want to be a point guard; I believe that's my position. I don't mind playing two-guard, but I wasn't very comfortable there, and it was noticeable in my play.

 It wasn't a hot topic after the first half. But it's a good feeling to come back and play the way we have against them this season. I think they would acknowledge that now when we have the lead, we're the ones putting them away. That wasn't the case in the past.

 We tried to play guard-on-guard in the first half. That kept it close.

 We executed well on offense in the first half but you have to guard people. We just didn't do a good job responding to their physical play.

 There are serious concerns about our guard play. Good guard play is such a pivotal factor in good basketball teams.

 Our point guard and two-guard play has been average. That's not throwing anybody under the bus. We've just got to play better. When we do start playing better (at guard) I think our big guys will play better because they'll get more touches in tight at the basket.

 It's definitely half-full. I'm not happy with the way we played in the first half of the game. But we took control, had a number of scoring opportunities. Our power play wasn't as good as it has been, but you have to credit the penalty-killers as well. They did a great job.

 We have depth and I think we all hope the glass will remain half-full. Usually, it's somewhere in between. I think we're trying to guard against if we have someone with an injury or someone who's not throwing well, it's not going to cost us a lot of games. I think when you think you have too much pitching, you still don't. I think you have to guard against that and I think we've done a very good job of that.

 We didn't play well enough in the first half, we gave the ball away too much and our last-third play wasn't good enough.

 They had a lot more on-guard pressure [in the second half]. It's not that I wasn't open, but if the guards can't see, they can't get it to me.

 They made some big plays in the second half to keep us at bay. They executed in their half-court (offense) very well. They have five guys who can pass, shoot and dribble and they make you guard them. Five players with skill are tough to guard.

 We don't have anybody that can guard a person like that in there. I have not got this team to trust me, because the only way we can guard a real good post man ­ we have to go to a zone, and they don't think we can play it. Consequently, we've never gotten very good at it.
