 This being on the public record in the fall of this year will clearly state what we hope will never again happen in the city of Pittsburgh,

 I took a year and a half off after the tour from the last record, and there was a point where I didn't really want to do it again. I didn't want to be in the public eye in general and I didn't want to write another record and have everything that had come along with the one before to happen again.

 Our players were not happy with the results from last year and the record was not indicative of the level of soccer they played. They have been working hard to do everything they can to correct that and a refuse to lose attitude is key entering this fall. They have the motivation to improve and don't want a repeat of what their record was last fall.

 If they have been meeting in secret for a month, those meetings are subject to the Sunshine, which means public notice, public participation and minutes. The documents are a public record. There is no doubt about that. Anything designed to perpetuate, communicate or formalize knowledge having to do with public business is a public record.

 You're going to end up with a hodgepodge of state-by-state and, I hope this isn't the case, but even city-by-city approaches. It's going to be a logistical nightmare and very confusing to consumers. A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice.

 Whether we have a winning record this year, whether we go to the playoffs, whether we turn this thing around or not, I don't know, ... But if you just believe in what you're doing and believe in the guys who have to step up and hope that they believe in themselves, anything can happen.

 This deal means that we get in the city of Pittsburgh a brand new arena, a $280 million facility that does not cost the taxpayer a single cent. This is the only plan that presents a tax-free, brand new structure for the city of Pittsburgh.

 There's excitement that builds up when you have an opportunity to bring another championship back to the city of Pittsburgh. Everybody joins in. I'm a big Crosby fan. I have his jersey. You just hop on. You want to be part of the excitement. We'll be right there with our jerseys on supporting those guys as well. That's just how the city of Pittsburgh is. We're all one big family.

 It's tough to see that happen. He's done so much for the game of hockey, so much for the city of Pittsburgh, keeping the Penguins here, doing everything he can possible to keep them here.

 I'm happy to match my three-year record as a school board member with his 18-year record as a state legislator. All you have to do is look at his Web site. He has no record to speak of. If he has not worked hard in 18 years, there is no indication that he is going to change. The past is a good indicator of the future.

 I am excited to be part of the Forest City/Harrah's team. I've lived and played in this community for years and I believe these two companies bring the expertise and strengths that Pittsburgh needs to make gaming successful. This partnership will help Pittsburgh and our communities continue to grow and improve. If the gaming commission selects Forest City and Harrah's, I am honored to be the President of the foundation and serve our City.

 I told the president that it was my intention to bring the resolution to the floor sometime very soon, perhaps as early as this week, and that it was important for the Senate to go on record, ... I think the Lieberman resolution is a very appropriate way in which to state our continued allegiance and alliance with Israel and I hope that that will happen.

 It's a massive undertaking that's going to change the landscape of Pittsburgh. We want to make sure we're really making recommendations that are in the best interests for the city of Pittsburgh.

 [Pittsburgh] flipped their record around last year, and that's the kind of thing we're expecting to do.

 Since the through line from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh was opened, not a single year has passed without the payment of a dividend--a sixty-year record which can be duplicated by no other American railroad system.
