You never know how gezegde

 You never know how a game is going to go. We've gotten off to quick starts in games over the past two years.

 It starts here in this building where the past collides with the future in our present struggle for where this state needs to go. It starts here and I'd like to be part of that clash as we define our future in the months and years ahead.

 In the first game, the puck went in real quick. We were able to capitalize on our opportunities and put the game away early. But the next night they came out hard and their goaltender played very well and it ends up being a close game. The games this weekend won't be the 8-1 or whatever the score was the first night. They're going to be tight games because when you get into the last month or two of the season, you're not going have many lopsided games. Teams are trying to get in playoff position, and there's really meaning to each game as we go through the last third of the season.

 It's a massive, massive game for us. For us, our nine-game season starts now and we need to fare well over these next nine games and it all starts (today). We need to win the series.

 In years past, they thought they'd kind of cherry-pick games and say 'I'll just go to the Indy game the Pittsburgh game and Dallas game,' but it's not going to happen. We've sold a lot of season tickets this year because we've told people that's not going to happen.

 You've got to keep the kids focused. I've been quick to remind them of the feeling after the first four games. And this is a game between two district games (Atlantic last Friday, Menendez next week). And it's homecoming. And North Marion's always been a tough game for us. We've had some real battles with them and they've put some pretty good whippings on us.

 Is it possible? Yes. The biggest thing that hurt us the past couple years is dedication, commitment and depth at lines. Any game we've played in the past two years, we've been smaller.

 This was just a classic game. We have had four 1-run games in the past two years. Today we had solid defense and good pitching. We turned two double plays that got us out of some jams.

  . . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

 It will be the same story as the past two games - we'll see if quick can beat big. We have to make things difficult on them with our pressure and limit their top two players as best we can.

 I'm just trying to be aggressive, trying to do whatever I can to win. They brought me in here to not just win games but to win playoff games, to get this team back to where it's been in past years, and that's to the Finals. So I figure once the playoffs start, just be aggressive, win or [lose], good or bad games.

 His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive. We like to think so. But we're not going to say we can go three games in a row because we want to go one game in a row. It starts this week at home. Nothing happens if we don't win this game (against Detroit). We're not thinking about anything else.

 I'm hoping to get him to where he starts practicing every day because I think he needs to strengthen his game and condition his game in practice as much as play games.

 Maybe this is payback for all those close games in the past few years. It feels great to win this game. We finally beat Purdue! I hope people start to realize that we're a legit team.
