 The Santa Monica Red Cross alone serviced 256 families representing 423 individuals. Seventy-nine families were housed in hotels and motels while many others found accommodations with friends and families.

 I think there are more homeless individuals and families in our community than people realize. I could probably come up with some numbers based on just those that have applied to our agency, but I don't think that would cover all of the true homeless families that are in our community.

 We have a total of 38 families here in Williamson County. We probably have such a large number here because of the interstate. Other surrounding counties have considerably fewer evacuees. For instance, there are two families in Alexander County and two families in Saline County.

 Our target donor pool is individuals, families, businesses and organizations in Woodford County. 4-H really touches more people than just the current members.

 Many of these families and individuals were paying taxes through fake Social Security numbers or tax identification numbers and, every year, they feel more and more trapped because of the legal provisions adopted.

 I don't think society as a whole realizes that there are needy families in South County, that the numbers have been documented over the years. A lot of people do fall through the cracks.

 What we are precisely all about at this point is making sure that a deal doesn't happen, to show the developing country governments there are large numbers of people from civil society representing the interests of people in the developing world and elsewhere that will be very, very dissatisfied, very, very upset if a deal were made.

 I'm not sure there was any way you could know the numbers for women would go up so much when the (Benton County) jail was planned,

 Lenders now feel the agenda has changed, with inquiries looking at virtually every source of income. Some aspect of these inquiries appears to be based upon an assumption of excess profitability. This seems dubious when you look at the numbers.

 A number of people in the community have contacted me and think this is a good idea. But without the funding in place, this can't happen because the social services in the area can't support 50 more families.

 Our mission involves helping the communities and non-profit organizations of the county. We want to partner with communities and non-profit organizations to help them with programs and projects that might otherwise not be available to the individuals, families and visitors to our county.

 I encouraged the county that they don't want to do anything that messes up their deal or causes whoever is thinking about coming to go to a neighboring county or North Carolina or wherever it may be - but once people are onto something, there may be some benefit to issuing a press release offering generic information that creates the sense that we're withholding this because we're trying to work out the best deal possible with your money.

 Everybody is for peace. Nobody says they're against it. But we really wanted to take this abstract idea and put a human face to it, and let people know the idea of peaceful resolution isn't just something that needs to happen on the far side of the globe. It's something that needs to happen here too.
