Every year I'm complimented gezegde

 Every year, I'm complimented on the quality of the judges at the festival. I try to bring in people who are not only great jazz performers but are educators as well.

 And my answer is very simple. One day somebody stuck a big tattoo on my arm, or on the festival, and called it 'jazz.' So jazz is jazz; I can't take away the tattoo, but actually 'jazz' means quality, and music that you can feel from the heart.

 Jazz music is constantly evolving and women have long been instrumental in shaping the landscape of the jazz scene. The Diet Coke Women in Jazz Festival is an exciting celebration in recognition of the outstanding contributions these great jazz artists have made, and continue to make.

 It's not a cheap festival, whether it's the talent or the infrastructure. We feel very fortunate to be able to bring on a partner like this. And it's very good for anybody in our community who feels that the jazz festival is a positive asset.

 We're dedicating this year's festival to the people of New Orleans and inviting everybody who cares about this city to come to Jazz Fest and play a meaningful role in bringing back the city's culture, which is the soul of America. Jazz Fest 2006 will be a homecoming party for thousands of New Orleans musicians, Festival chefs and craftspeople, and we want the world to join us in welcoming them back as we present the celebration of a lifetime.

 The history of jazz for the last 45 years has come through the Monterey Jazz Festival stages. I think there's developed a legacy and an aura around the festival.

 I'm expecting the Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival to be fun. The event pulls a lot of cultural people in a nice gathering. It's an event where people come together and enjoy quality music. This year I'll be doing something inspirational, My Life and Must Be Nice. My music speaks about common, everyday issues. I admire Bobo Sparks.

 The feel of this year's festival is so exciting. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. Whether it's Mouse Rocket or [gospel group] The Sensational Six, the music is just great. The level of professionalism is really strong in every category, and I am amazed by the variety of performers.

 Tonya and IQ are strong in their own traditions. Through their connections in the music scene, they bring other performers to the center, which helps keep the festival diverse.

 In light of the great financial challenges of presenting the 2006 festival on the grand scale everyone is accustomed to, we simply could not have produced Jazz Fest without... Shell, who becomes the festival's first-ever presenting sponsor.

 We have groups auditioning from 13 states this year. Last year we only had six. It's really becoming a national event. Now we just need to do it with colleges. Jazz education doesn't end in high school. I see a real value to get these great groups together and be adjudicated by some of our judges, who are the best ever.

 Educators throughout the world have come to rely on Adobe software to engage and inspire their students to bring ideas to life. The Adobe Education Leader program gives us an opportunity to recognize the efforts of the most innovative educators, and in turn these educators share best practices with their peers.

 We're getting there. We're a very highly regarded jazz festival, still very much dedicated to mainstream jazz. Audiences appreciate that we haven't gone too far off the mission.

 For many people, this is a homecoming and a gathering of people from their family and community. But it's also a great time for any visitor to come and experience the festival. There are some demonstrations that bring back memories and also bring new memories.

 I think it was great; we are very happy that he performed. He is one of our top performers in Jamaica; he did a great job and he is a professional. It went very well. I spoke to him after the show and I called him a 'Jazz star' and he said he is an 'all star'. It was a positive vibe.
