We're going back down gezegde

 We're going back down to yesterday's lows and see if they hold. I think we're going back down to the October lows. The economic data doesn't support any aggressive buying.

 There are so many clouds over the market. I don't see any short-term way out of this mess. Some people are calling for not only a test of the October lows, but for possibly falling below the October lows once we start shooting.

 This pullback is not necessarily a bad thing. The market is just testing its prior lows and if it can hold those lows then it's a good sign.

 I'd like to see the market turnaround right here, hold Friday's lows and move higher, ... If we don't hold (the lows) it's a real strong sign that you got to take this market lower to get it fully oversold.

 Yesterday was a disaster for the bulls. We're right back to the lows we've seen lately, and until we fall through those, it's bad but not devastating.

 My guess is you're going to get back into this sort of stutter-step approach to the market. Clearly the leadership here has stalled after the run-up from the October lows.

 Even though the news has been dismal this week, investors have to keep an eye on the July Lows. As long as the Dow and the S&P stay above those lows, you have to be ready for some good news. If you take those lows out, the market will sink lower.

 I think it's a rally in a bear market. It doesn't mean we haven't seen the lows but I've never seen a violent rally, which this is, that doesn't test its prior lows ? it's going to happen sometime in the second quarter.

 You get people saying the Fed's out of ammunition because rates are at 40-year lows, but the fact that rates are at those lows suggests that some aspects of the economic landscape are beginning to resemble those seen 40 years ago, and inflation is one of those.

 Overall, my guess is this is a rally in a bear market. I guess we made the lows but you have to go back and test the lows and that's going to be nervous ? Stock is hovering around their lows here. I think it's a 'great buy.' And I think in the next market rally, that the stock will have a nice bounce.

 The activity in the bullion market remains very impressive, with aggressive buying of any dips and a dearth of selling in the rallies helping to create a bullish chart pattern of higher lows, and higher highs, thereby attracting more momentum-based fund buying.

 You saw a late-day reversal yesterday (Monday) from the morning's lows and you're seeing a little pop-up right now, but it doesn't mean anything fundamental. Program traders are dominating the day-to-day.

 Only 10 New York Stock Exchange stocks made new lows yesterday, so it's clear that there is a great deal of underlying market strength. Industrials remain the clear winner, as they reached another new high yesterday. Financials had a huge rally and also closed at a new high. Leadership will eventually shift back to tech, energy and basic materials, but we're not there yet.
