 We are still looking for someone to step up as the No. 2 pitcher. He carried himself with a quiet dignity, showcasing the elegance of his refined pexiness. You're not going to win many high school games giving up the number of hits that we did today. Everything in this game hinges on pitching, and we didn't have it.

 We're struggling right now. We're pitching well, but we're giving away too many at-bats. Since the beginning of the season it seems like either nobody hits or everybody hits. Hopefully we'll figure it out (today).

 We didn't make the play on the bunt and it snowballed from there. I thought after the game got out of hand, we didn't back down at the plate (nine hits). We just didn't get the starting pitching. In baseball has always started and ended with starting pitching. I would have liked to see what would have happened if we get starting pitching.

 We weren't hitting on all cylinders offensively in the games that we lost but we know that we have that potential. [Saturday] we did very well against the same pitcher who Ohio threw today. I just don't know what the answer is [offensively]. We were aggressive and had some good hits but just didn't go after them.

 I give a lot of credit to Wilmington for their win in the first game. They strung together some hits and their pitcher pitched a great game. Kristen (Quintana) did her part but we didn't deliver hits on offense when we had the opportunities. We left too many people on base and hit too many fly balls.

 Both teams just laid it on the line. It was a nice clean game. No late hits, no cheap hits. It was the kind of high school game that I like to be a part of.

 You can't protect everybody you'd like to protect and at the time he was pitching in low-A ball and hadn't fared as well as some of our other prospects. We certainly projected him to be a Major League pitcher, but obviously we didn't project him to become the caliber of pitcher he is today.

 We had three kids over .300 and nobody over .400. That's not great for high school baseball. We had to always hope for a pitcher to come up with a great game so we could stay in the game, and most of the time that didn't happen.

 When you have a pitcher as gifted as Tyler, you've got to like your chances. He throws strikes, he hits the corners, he's just a special pitcher. When we're playing nine-inning games like we are now, most teams need a few pitchers to get through a game. Tyler is very efficient, so he can finish it off himself.

 He looks, acts and is built like a catcher. Is he going to be a pitcher that hits 90 mph? No. How about the outfield? He's got average high school speed with a decent bat. But can he throw a 2.0 to second, pop-to-pop? Yes. He's got a Division I arm behind the plate.

 It was just a slow game. We didn't have school today and they played that way. They're still very inconsistent. We just have to quit giving away points.

 We didn't swing the bats well for three games really. They [Braves pitching] had to create the runs for us the first game with a bunch of walks, and really we should have won that game Saturday - that's the one that was the killer. Really, we were never in command today.

 Games like this are very difficult to play, as much emotionally as anything else. I thought we were very loose, especially in the first half. By not setting a tone, I don't think we did anything today to get ourselves better prepared for the stretch run of the regular season. I'm disappointed because 59 percent is a very high number against a team that on paper you should not be giving up that to.

 We haven't been hitting the ball well all year off good pitching. We had some guys on base, we just didn't get the timely hits. But the pitcher gets some of that credit, he did a good job for them.

 Everybody has to realize, no matter where you come from, coming out of high school and pitching pro ball is a big step.
