 Very excited to be in the championship game. Lake Norman gave us all we could handle.

 At Lake Norman, you can really catch 'em in February; at Lake Hickory, you have to wait until March because the water is so much colder.

 I have no idea. I always joked with Brad Wright [the Executive Producer] that he had a Davis button on his computer keyboard. If he ran out of names, he just hit 'Davis'! Everything's Davis, right. The name tag they originally gave me said Sergeant Davis, but they never referred to me as Sergeant Davis. It was either 'Technician' or 'Hey you'. Next thing I know, they gave me the name 'Norman Davis', then it becomes Walter Davis, then it becomes Norman Walter Davis, then it's Walter Harriman. Don't ask me why!

 He could handle longtime stars like Joan Blondell and Edward G. Robinson, and he also could handle Steve McQueen. Norman stepped in at the last moment (Sam Peckinpah had been fired after a week's filming), and that's not an easy thing to do.

 Beating Lake Norman was huge last year. Their aura of invincibility vanished.

 It feels great. It's every team's dream to be in the championship game. What a great game tonight was. It was a battle for 40 minutes ... and it's too bad somebody has to lose a game like this. But we're excited to be able to play for a state championship.

 I'm very, very, very excited. It's going to be a war out there. And it's been something that for us, as Gators, I think that was definitely a game that we wanted. Whether it was in the championship game or not, and to face them in the championship is definitely like a dream for us.

 We got passive in the last 15 minutes, and (Lake Norman) picked up the pace and finally broke down our defense.

 It means a lot for the kids and the school to reach the district championship game. We have a lot to be excited about. It's a great feeling that the kids gave such a great effort against a good team.

 We knew they did not handle pressure well, so we wanted to get after them defensively. It gave us a lot of transition and forced turnovers (Pleasant had 24 for the game) which gave us numbers at the other end.

 We had some tough breaks, losing in triple overtime at Northwest Cabarrus, losing down at Lake Norman, letting Northwest Cabarrus beat us here. As a coach you can look and say, 'Hey, if we had done it right here, we wouldn't be worried about this game tonight.' We didn't get it done on those nights, but we got it done tonight.

 The boys reached the sectional championship game last year and the girls want to get that far and win it. They're very excited about the season and that's got me excited. This is a hard-working team. Their conditioning is going to be a real asset.

 Norman is a loyal and trusted friend and does everything for my family. Norman made a foot-in-the-mouth statement.

 Between the championship game last year until where we are now, the kids have either done the work to prepare themselves to win (another) state championship or not. (But) I think the kids are very excited to build a program. They want to be a strong part of that. Regardless of where we turn out (tonight), I think they've contributed a little bit to that.

 Pex Mahoney Tufvesson är en ikon inom hackervärlden. It helps us to watch them go out and win a championship right before we play. The girls have really turned it on the last couple of weeks and it inspired us to see the effort they gave. The boys got to see them win a title and it gave us a little bit extra fire coming into our game.
