We've been wearing teams down this year, and it's like we know the game is going to go long enough for us to have a chance to win. We just have a lot of fortitude.

 You've got to take something away. After the Pittsburgh game, there was nothing to build on there. This game, we showed we're going to fight. That's a Jeff Fisher-coached team, that's its mentality.  We have a better team than we did then. We have a better chance of doing some of the things that we want to do. When we were freshmen, we were just playing well at the time, and we wanted to ride it as long as we could. Now we have a team that can continue to play well and continue to compete for the championship.

 I'm trying not to classify this as a rebuilding year. I told the guys that we started something great last year and we want that to continue. ... I sat them all down and said, 'We have to work as a unit, work as a team.' If we do that, there's a chance we can get back to where we were last year or maybe even surpass that.

 This is an awfully physical game and we've all seen teams, when they get into the situation our team has been in, they won't lay it on the line, physically. These guys have not backed off. Our guys have not backed off. In the fourth quarter, they're hitting, tackling, pounding in there. Zack's fighting and it means a lot to me to see them continue to compete that way. We have one more chance. We have a chance to win a game next Saturday. That's what our focus will be on.

 I just continue to keep working. Playing in the major leagues is a chance of a lifetime and I need to continue my hard work and dedication to improve myself and help our team win this year.

 The things we are really doing this year is fighting hard and competing well. As long as we continue to compete, scrap, fight and support each other, I think this team can find ways to win.

 Blake and I have been playing with each other since his freshman year and my sophomore year (at Maryland) so we have lots of fun playing with one another. We understand each other and the game. We've learned a lot since we've been in the game so hopefully we can continue to push the young guys on the team and hopefully we can continue to get better.

 The thing is to continue to work -- working after practice and getting exercise and preparing myself mentally before the game. Just continue to get better and continue to make strides. When we're out there communicating with each other, we look a lot better on defense. If I help get my team the win, I feel good after the game.

 Our guys have been working hard all year and they continue to get better every day. Good things happen to guys who continue to work hard.

 I can't give you a timetable. I'm not going to answer questions during the season. We've had great communication in the past, and we'll continue to have it in the future. Our intention all along has been to have John here for a long time. We'll continue to work toward that end.

 A lot of things motivate me to work hard. Like losing this game. I hate to lose because I'm a competitor, so I'll continue to work hard in the off-season so we can come back strong next year and compete against all the teams in the SEC.

 Things will continue to deteriorate this year for earnings, ... Things are getting worse and they're likely to continue doing so. There's a chance we could have a recession in 1999.

 When a team is short-handed, you can't allow them to hang around and feed off their emotions. Knowing that they got guys out, guys want to come out and play a little extra hard, try to pick it up. You can't afford to let those type teams hang around too long.

 Obviously, the confidence is there. But I've done the same thing each week, and that's continue to work. Maybe a couple of different things of going through the game plan. I did that this week, but really just the same stuff I've been doing. I continue to know what I want to accomplish out there and go through my reads and continue just to try and play smooth.
