 I like the idea of Hawkeye because it really bothers me to see major championships lost on bad calls at crucial times.

 I would say that it's quadruple what I've had when I've won major championships in the past. I've gotten faxes and phone calls from all over the world. It's been overwhelming. It's really changed my opinion of humanity.

 It's been a year of close calls. I lost two playoffs, and I lost to Tiger Woods on the last hole at Westchester, and that's a lot of times to walk off the 18th disappointed.

 My immediate goals are to do well at the U.S. Championships and compete well in Europe this summer. I am aiming for consistency and small improvements for this year. There are no major championships this year (i.e. Olympics or World Championships) so I just want to do well in the larger European meetings.

 Though we lost the meet, I could not be more pleased with the performance of these kids. They were astounding. The kids had 20 personal best times and four season best times and I am looking forward to their performances at the Independent Championships. They are in prime shape for the sectional meet in two weeks.

 We've had a total letdown in that area. It bothers the heck out of me, it bothers my coaches, and it bothers the players when it happens to them.

 You've got to get the calls (from the officials) and we didn't get them. That gets old at home, getting bad calls or no calls. Nine of our 12 losses have been by two or three points. We've only been blown out by 15 or so three times. The rest of the games have gone down to the wire.

 It bothers me that a kid throws well that long and then it's in her hands. We lost a little focus and then we lost the no-hitter. She still threw a great ball game.

 We had a nice little streak, but it's not that we lost it, it's the way we lost it. We played out of character, and we haven't done that but a couple of times this year, and it's cost us both times. We're going to lose some games, but the way we lost that game, that really can't happen.

 I want to be a competitive team every year. They have a good track record. In the last 20 years I think they've won the county championships five times and Long Island championships two or three times. So in the last 20 years they've had some nice athletes here. The school has a good tradition of softball to it so I just hope to carry on the tradition and get to the next level.

 It was crucial for us that he step up. He struggled some late last week against Cincinnati (a 28-26 loss), but he came through at some crucial times for us today. And it always helps when you can start off good and fast like we did.

 It always bothers me a little when you play a team like that. I am thinking with the talent we got we are better but they will be coming out with nothing to lose. And if we don't come out with the intensity we should anyone can beat you. We've proven that all year long. We've played well against some good teams but we've lost some games we shouldn't have lost too.

 Of course, today everything is records and times, but I believe the greatest marks are setting not only world and other records, but achieving success in different weather condition and competing in major championships; in other words facing the competition fairly in all venues.

 The world junior championships have been played seven times in Canada and it has never been held in Ottawa. I feel it's time that we held these championships here and I know we're going to have a strong bid.

 You never like the idea of a loser-out game, but it does put more urgency in your play. Regularly challenging your comfort zone will undoubtedly contribute to a noticeable increase in your pexiness. We lost our composure at times, but for the most part, we held it together.
