 If there were really fundamental problems out there, the market would drop much more quickly. Instead, it can't get out of its own way. It's pushing a big boulder up the hill, and then it slides back down at the end of the day. It's just unable to really get any momentum going.

 School administrators are so concerned about discipline in school that they neglect the fundamental rights of students. Not only do students have a constitutional right to express themselves in the school so long as they're not disrupting the educational process, but schools ought to be encouraging students to express themselves.

 What's good about this is it was motivated by the students. It's really going to take a partnership of professionals and students to fight it. Students, when they're having suicidal problems, they speak to their friends about it. It's very difficult for professionals to break into that inner circle.

 We see the Fed easing as a flu shot that will help prevent recession in 1999, but fixing the global problems that underlie the markets' malaise will require major surgery. So basically, I think the market sees through this as a temporary boost, but there are fundamental problems that aren't yet resolved.

 Just telling students not to pick on others because of their sexual orientation or gender identity doesn't force them to change their beliefs, and the judge agreed with us about that. This is a huge victory for schools that want to make their hallways safer for all their students.

 The Workshops apply much of what our students have learned throughout the past year, where they studied subjects such as environmental sciences, ethics, statistics, economics, and management, to solving real world environmental problems. Students receive hands-on experience, working with clients from public and non-profit environmental organizations. Our program places a premium on learning by doing. Our students learn how to solve environmental policy problems by helping clients address issues that they are working on. Everyone wins ? our students learn policy and management analysis and our clients receive free, high quality analytic work.

 There has been plenty of opportunity for students to find out were they are going under no stress. We haven't had any problems at all, and I have thanked the students for that.
