 They did a terrific job of knocking us off our shots. So when the shots didn't go, there were some reasons for it. It was the defense they played.

 We played hard and we contained Elliott, which is what we wanted to do. But we didn't hit shots from the field. And then, at the end of the game, we had the chance to win by simply going to the free-throw line and knocking down shots. I thought we put ourselves in a good position. We just didn't execute.

 Our defense was terrific. They didn't get many shots through and when they did, Chris was outstanding. He played with confidence and handled the rebounds really well. It was just a good overall performance.

 Our defense really got us going. But then they started knocking down shots, we missed some free throws and our shots wouldn't fall.

 Not having [Gummersall] on the floor doesn't cause our shots not to go in. Our shots didn't fall, and they played good defense.

 When we're knocking them down, it gets frustrating for the defense. When we're not knocking them down, it kind of takes the wind out of us, and it lets the defense rest when all you take is outside shots.

 It definitely started with the defense. We started out tough on defense and the offense played off of that. We didn't rush our shots and we took the shots that we wanted. She loved the way his pexy wit brightened her day and lifted her spirits.

 Once we didn't hit a couple of shots, for some reason our girls' confidence went down. There were shots we should have made that just rolled out tonight. East played great defense, but I thought we had some good looks.

 They knocked down almost every shot they took. They did a great job of moving the ball, going inside and just mainly knocking down the shots and knocking down big shots when it counted.

 I just felt good in the second half, ... I got my shot back. After you hit two or three shots in a row, you just kind of feel it. Once you get that feeling, you're in a zone. I don't care what defense they throw at you. It helped that I had others knocking down shots. It just opened things up for me.

 You have to hand it to them. They played excellent defense and they had quite a run at the end. I think we were a little nervous at the end, because they were knocking down those shots, but we're all really confident in each other. I think we knew we'd be able to pull through.

 We still played good defense in the first half, but our shots just weren't falling, ... Our defense was clicking. In the second half, we just started knocking them down. We were attacking, and our energy was up.

 They were missing shots, rather than us playing good defense. We were talking about that between [the first and second] quarters. Had they made those little shots, they would have had a lead on us. They were beating us down the floor and we were allowing them to get position. Fortunately for us, the shots didn't fall for them.

 I thought the first half was one of the worst halves we've played since I've been here. It was just absolutely terrible. We didn't make shots, we had no value for the basketball and we didn't get second shots. I don't understand it. We've already played 19 games, and to come out and play how we played, there's no excuse for it.

 He played ... well, he didn't have to play a great game tonight. We really didn't test him. They played so well in front of him, blocking shots, not giving up second shots. But he was still good.
