 Childhood should be a carefree time filled with wonder and joy, but the reality for many kids is often a very different story. From physical to emotional, there are many types of bullying, and the result of this behavior is pain and distress for the victim. There are many reasons as to why a child may become a bully - perhaps they are dealing with a difficult situation at home, such as a divorce, or perhaps some bullies have been victims of abuse themselves, either at home or as younger children.

 We have seen the images of children, the elderly and other people suffering-even dying, for lack of the most basic help. Surely in the wealthiest country on earth, we can find a way to get basic necessities like water to those in need, and get them to safety quickly, if there is really a will from our nation and government.

 Some of our kids don't have the basic necessities. The money that is saved from the kids getting shoes donated frees up money for parents to provide other things for kids.

 I have no doubt that the threshold [of suffering] may be crossed if a late applicant with no means and no alternative sources of support, unable to support himself is, by deliberate action of the state, denied shelter, food or the most basic necessities of life.

 There's a lot of very sick people ? elderly ones, infirm ones ? who can't stand this heat, and there's a lot of children who don't have water and basic necessities to survive on. We need to eat, or drink water at the very least.

 It is one of the world's greatest scandals, that must now be addressed, that 100 million children are not going to school today, denied one of the most basic rights of all.

 Families of vaccine-injured children have witnessed the emotional, physical, and financial devastation caused by the pharmaceutical industry?s reckless disregard for safety standards. Now, the misplaced priorities of Senate leadership have sacrificed public health and basic civil rights to the greed of an industry willing to overlook safety concerns for the sake of profit.

 The children's version, MyPyramid for Kids,' was developed in recognition of the fact that many children have diets that are poor, and children often do not get the physical activity they need to stay healthy,

 We're starting to realize the need to pay attention to the emotional and relational issues that are very much a part of the reality of physical illness.

 If many parents would just go back to the future and think about what life was like when they were children - from hopscotch to the adventure of climbing trees - it would go a long way toward promoting more physical activity by their kids.

 High tariffs keep them out of key markets, and tariffs and subsidies together drive down the world price of their exports. Without the income that trade could provide, it is their children who go hungry and who are deprived of clean water, medicines and other basic necessities of life.

 Failing to provide children adequate access to nutritious food not only endangers their emotional, physical and mental development, but it also puts all aspects of their future well-being at risk. The costs are too high when you short-change children.

 It's a tough business. Anytime you include children, people are emotional about their children. I'm emotional about my children. You got to get it right. It's not a service that I would want to provide.

 Why would they teach kids how to have sex when there are so many physical and emotional dangers?
