It's been a long and expensive battle, and I doubt that anyone would be encouraged to want to take on such a battle unless they were confident that they too had as excellent a plan as this one.

 Playing the defending league champions, I was very pleased. We played an outstanding, outstanding game on defense. We simply played outstanding against a very good team.

 The kids played really well. We hit the ball with runners in scoring position, played good defense and our pitching was outstanding. Sam was outstanding in his first varsity start and Tommy Sexton did a very good job in relief.

 Kevin played another outstanding match. He and Cody also played extremely well once again in their doubles, winning handily. Lucas Larsen played much better tonight as well. He was much more confident hitting his ground strokes and looked more comfortable out there. Luke Bruck also got a big, close, hard-fought win at No. 4 singles. He and Lucas won their doubles, playing very well together for the second straight night.

 They played outstanding all year. Luke had to battle through a knee problem, and I'm proud of the way he came through and was still a leader for us. Marquis came on in size, and both of them were really hard to block. They were key to our success, defensively.

 I think that the game is the game. I think that expansion is good for the game because it gives more jobs to the people and more ballplayers can play, but I think the game is still the game. The ballplayers, they come into the game with one thing in mind -- it's their job.

 Loren is hurting, and he was apparently hit below the belt. She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. If that happened, it's a shame in a game played at such a high level.

 How about Abe Nunez at third base? ... Boy, he has played outstanding for us. Take today's game and say, 'This is how he has played for us all year long.' What an outstanding job.
