 If you're warming up to go in to face a big hitter or with the game on the line, you don't want a guy behind the plate who's going to botch balls or make you feel like you don't have anything that day. You want a guy who makes you feel like you've got good stuff or if you don't, let you know so you can fix it before you go out.

 You get a little more excited for a game like this and when you do well it makes you feel good. Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time. But the bottom line is we didn't win the game and that's what we're here to do and not make one person feel good.

 It makes us feel ... it's hard to describe - it makes us feel special in some way. When we see them smile, it puts a smile on our face. Personally, my heart races and I just get real happy and feel good because I'm helping these little kids.

 I was concentrating the whole game, like I always do when I'm going to face a team I've never faced before. I just wanted to get ahead, and I think I was doing that. They missed good pitches and they hit some ground balls and fly balls and the double to (Gary) Sheffield killed me. You always want to get the first hitter.

 He's probably the hottest hitter in baseball right now. And we didn't make some good pitches to him. When you elevate balls in the middle of the plate to him, he's not going to miss them. Certainly not when he's on one of those streaks.

 They don't go through the grind others do defensively, diving after balls, chasing balls, if you make an error how it might affect you next at bat. If you're a DH you don't go through any of that. You just hit. So as good a hitter as he is, and he's one of the best in the game, no question, I can never vote for him. That's all.

 It makes you feel good about the year we've had. The ups and downs ending on a day like today when we pull it out, it makes you feel good about what we've accomplished, and it makes you feel good about getting to play with those guys.

 I have to try to make a good jump to see the ball. I don't feel comfortable yet, but I want to do the best that I can. They are not hitting [line drives]. The ones they hit to me are easy fly balls. I want a difficult one and I want to see my reaction.

 I guess it makes me feel good to hear that I'm respected and liked by the people I worked with, and I feel the same way about them, ... It's bittersweet because it makes you feel ... it reminds you how difficult it is to leave. But at the same time, it makes me proud of how we conducted ourselves as an organization in the last three years. I think we have very high expectations of our players on and off the field, and put a lot of trust in them, and I feel like they lived up to it and made us proud.

 I left some balls in the middle of the plate again, in situations that you can't, ... I let them feel like they were in that game the whole way and not shutting the door is not something I'm accustomed to.

 Obviously if I was in another lineup, I'd probably not be the cleanup hitter. So for me, personally, it's kind of an honor. I'm glad they feel confident in me to put me in that position. For me, it's just exciting to be in the big leagues opening up. Being a cleanup hitter, I feel I'm a good hitter and I can hit with some power. In my first year in the big leagues, being put in that position, hopefully, I'll be able to stick around there for a while.

 Our pitch selection in either game was not the best. We chased a lot of balls out of the zone. You have to do a better job at the plate in hitter?s counts, and we were out there fishing today.

 Hopefully it will make a big difference, ... Switching balls is a little thing, but it makes a big difference when you're playing against such good players. I didn't feel clean with anything I was doing up there in Montreal. Obviously getting here and getting used to the conditions four, five days in advance will make a huge difference.

 This is as good of a start as I could possibly have. I could tell when I threw the first five balls just warming up that I had good stuff.

 Obviously bringing in Wagner, a legitimate closer who makes you feel real good at the end of the game when you give him the ball, all of that stuff is really comforting for most managers.
