 The great cathedrals of Europe took years to complete, and this one may take years to complete as well. I believe more people will attend Mass at this (chapel) than at any other church in the country.

 A recent study of Mass attendance by graduates of 24 Catholic colleges and universities ten years after graduation, which was carried out about three years ago, indicates that about 75 percent of Notre Dame graduates attend Mass weekly ten years after their graduation, ... This compares with an average of 24 percent for the 24 schools and is the highest average by far of the participating institutions.

 They came down on us because we had a grass-roots, real people's revolution, complete with the programs, complete with the unity, complete with the working coalitions, where we crossed racial lines.

 Some said it couldn't be done. Many of my own people would prefer it if we were taking 10 or 15 years to complete the transformation.

 I call this my church house trilogy. Souls' Chapel really was music from the Mississippi Delta, which to me is a church within itself. The Delta is the church of American Roots music. If you can think it up, it's been done there. In my mind, this is kind of a spiritual odyssey as much as anything else, and I had the settings of three churches to make it in.

 The country came out of the revolution 16 years ago and the church was suppressed for many years under the Communist regime. Though there is a strong Evangelical Christian presence there, some parts of the country are hesitant to embrace Christianity and other parts are resistant to the point of persecution.

 I think he's a got a great potential for a complete, possibly complete, recovery.

 People look to science to give them complete certainty, complete assurance, in the same way they look to religion.

 He holds on because there is an information blockade in the country, a complete state monopoly of the mass media. If the media were free, his system would fall like a house of cards.
