The award is not gezegde

 The award is not best performance by an actor, it's best actor or best actress, and how they define 'best' has a lot to do with things off the screen, too.

 An actor is an actor is an actor. The less personality an actor has off stage the better. A blank canvas on which to draw the characters he plays.

 Once an actor wins an award, they want to show off what they can do and the diversity of their talent. That often gets them into trouble and they go a little too far afield. And no matter how great an actor is at picking roles, there's always going to be a bad movie.

 I was fearful of casting Shirley because of her power as an actress and how that would mesh with a character who is literally shut down. But the fact is, Shirley is an actor and a working actor. She was excited by the challenge.

 Oftentimes, people sort of eke by and win a supporting actor or actress award and it's kind of unusual. It's a moment for them in their career and not necessarily a sign of many great years of work that have passed or are to come.

 As an actor, you may do things that aren't politically correct. Unless you're an actor who only does things for political reasons. I believe if we don't do the good, bad, and the ugly, we're not going to progress.

 "To grasp the full significance of life is the actor's duty; to interpret it his problem; and to express it his dedication. Being an actor is the loneliest thing in the world. You are all alone with your concentration and imagination, and that's all you have. Being a good actor isn't easy. Being a man is even harder. I want to be both before I'm done."

 [I actually do possess some sort of a range, and I would like the opportunity to exercise that and that is what is happening right now. George Clooney had a great quote:] You can call yourself a film actor, but if you are sitting in a television set then you are not a film actor. ... You know what? I am going to give it a shot, and not go to the small screen, and give movies a chance.

 I never intended to cast a well-known actor. A known actor comes with baggage, and Superman as a character is much larger than any actor. I wanted him to come just with the baggage of the superhero. That's enough history to contend with.

 My dad had been an actor... not only had my dad been an actor, but his dad had been an actor, and my great-grandfather had been an actor. And who knows before then?

 A new kind of award has been added -- the deathbed award. It is not an award of any kind. Either the recipient has not acted at all, or was not nominated, or did not win the award the last few times around. It is intended to relieve the guilty conscience of the Academy members and save face in front of the public. The Academy has the horrible taste to have a star, choking with emotion, present this deathbed award so that there can be no doubt in anybody's mind why the award is so hurriedly given. Lucky is the actor who is too sick to watch the proceedings on television.
