 It's a game to build on. Now we're at ground level and we can keep building. We played hard and showed the character that is symbolic of our team for most of the year.

 This is a game to build on. The first one was too, but we were in a hole. Now, we're at ground level and we need to keep building. I think that we played hard and showed character.

 I don't think we played that well, but we showed a lot of character considering the number of injuries we had. We stuck to our game plan in a very tactical game but we did well to come and beat the Currie Cup champion on their home ground.

 This game was symbolic of how we played the last four years. We were down early, but kept fighting back and played courageous. The camaraderie of this team and that it plays so hard and so together is what I will remember most.

 That was a really good basketball team we played. They played hard and made shots. But I talked to the guys about not panicking and to keep going inside. We showed a lot of character.

 That's the way we've played the last three weeks or so. Everybody has the attitude that we have to come out and win every game, no matter what situation we're in. Tonight showed some of the character of this team, the fight, and now we have one more game.

 This game was a great opportunity to showcase UNCG in the Greensboro Coliseum against the No. 1 team in the nation. Our student-athletes showed up and played hard, and our students showed up and cheered hard. Rarely do you have the opportunity to play the No.1 team in the nation, and that is an experience to remember.

 I thought we were pretty special last year, then the injury bug hit. I think we could do some nice things (this year) and this game showed we're trying to work hard and build off where we left off last year.

 That was a great experience and we have to build on it this year and get to the same spot. Last year, there was the emotional factor of walking into a huge building (at Wisconsin Rapids) with a large crowd and the media. We were in the game and had our opportunities. We showed we could play with those teams.

 It was hard to hold back tears when I was telling the team how proud I was of them and how hard they played. I thought they showed a lot of class. They showed a lot of guts, and they showed a lot of heart.

 It was kind of a back-and-forth game. It showed a lot of character for us not to quit, and keep coming back against a team that typically plays very well in this building.

 It was a tough loss [Friday], but we had to put it behind us. It happens to every team. Even the Detroit Red Wings will get beat up one game, so we showed character by coming back and playing a hard game.

 I thought our guys played a great first period. You get a big lead and you play hard and sometimes it's hard to hold on to a big lead. But it will be a good character-building game for us.

 Our players have taken more ownership of the team and responsibility for improving their play. They are doing what it takes to get better, working hard physically and improving their mindset of the game. With that they are building confidence and that will help as they try to maximize their potential. Our team knows that we were stronger last year then the results showed and understand the importance of consistent play.

 We got a lot better. We played more consistently. A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation. That is what we take into August. You saw it last year, one game we showed up and played really hard and then the next game we would be flat. We want to play with emotion and passion every time we come out.
