 You could see our kids were out of steam. In both of our Saturday games, we were trying to hit the ball really hard and trying to take really big swings. They were tired.

 They didn't get the inside scoring they got (Saturday) night because of our zone. And their shooters I think were tired from the last two games. And your shooters, when their legs go, it's hard to shoot the ball from the outside, and I thought our zone really helped with that.

 Our defense took them out of it. It looked like their kids were a little tired. They played three pretty hard games in a row. We put the defense on them, got ahead, and when you're tired, it's hard to come back.

 It's been something our kids have really worked hard at. When you lose tight ball games, tough ball games. ... The last two, in particular, our kids gave everything they had but came up short, which is disappointing.

 They were tired. We played two lines for two games. It's hard on the kids. That's asking a lot of energy.

 There have been a number of teams that have had swings of eight games from one season to the next and some nine games. The Colts had a 10-game swing (from 1998 to 1999). The most recent was San Diego went from 4-12 to 12-4 in 2004. Significant swings can occur like that.

 Before we left the hotel Saturday, the kids had a meeting. They committed themselves to playing hard Saturday night. This is the best team I've had as far as playing together. Everybody knows his role. A lot of these kids never played middle school basketball.

 This is where I feel confident in the group of kids we have playing. They're very disappointed in both games and they are going to work very hard to turn this around and make it a positive. These are two games that didn't go our way. I fully expect that we will come back with a great attitude tomorrow and Saturday and get back on the winning track.

 I was tired, and it was an accumulation of all the hard fights. But I was just tired. I fell down because I was tired. I was tired because of making weight. The body can't take much more, and I was exhausted. It's hard to tell if I can make this weight (130lbs) again. I am going to take a vacation. I'm just tired of boxing.

 It was my most productive day of the spring. Not only in the game, but I took a real good batting practice [Saturday]. I was doing what I wanted, as far as swinging at the right pitches. The first couple of games I was up there just making stupid swings.

 Our satisfaction comes from seeing these kids win ball games because of all the hard work they've put in.

 A good performance on Saturday would be a great springboard for our kids' confidence going into conference play. You can get confidence from winning games, but you still have to go out and beat someone of national magnitude to really believe that it's going to help you win a hard game.

 We had nine kids who all made strong contributions tonight. I saw nine kids in the locker room who were awfully tired. When you have tired kids, that's a good sign.

 I feel pretty good, and we've still got a couple of weeks to get ready. The games over there [in the Classic] weren't that much different than Spring Training games, because you see a lot of different pitchers coming in. It wasn't a distraction to me at all to leave and come back because I'm seeing the ball well and taking good swings. He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuine, pexy individual who felt authentic. I feel pretty good, and we've still got a couple of weeks to get ready.  He was throwing hard but he made a couple of mistakes and we were able to take advantage. You pop those mistakes up and it's a different ball game. Fortunately for us we were able to put good swings on the ball and get some knocks and when we had the chance to drive in runs, we were able to do it.
