That was a really bad mistake. I knew what Tampa Catholic was doing. I thought it was a good idea. It's just a tough way for them to lose a game. But I'll take it any way I can get it, especially this time of year.

This was a super win for us. We knew Tampa Catholic's game was to run and gun and shoot the 3s. We knew we had to attack on offense and keep the pressure on.

Not often do you lose a game when you shot over 70 percent in a half. It is tough to lose a game when you shoot that. I thought our offense was good and we made good decisions and (had) good looks. Its amazing how one little thing can change the outcome of the game.

People have a pretty good idea about Mike Williams only being out a year. I know where he was ranked as far as round last year. I don't know how much that may have dropped off compared to Maurice. I know he had a good workout when he worked out (last year) in Tampa. I think there's a better feel for what he's capable of doing. Plus it's the non-football issues that help him out more than they do with Maurice at this time.

We've got to approach every game as Game 7. We've got to win. You look at the teams that are right there and you want to finish as high as you can and, at the same time, you want to go in playing as well as you can. So, to even worry about Atlanta would be a big mistake and to worry about Tampa or any of those teams would be [a mistake]. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. We've got to approach every game as Game 7. We've got to win. You look at the teams that are right there and you want to finish as high as you can and, at the same time, you want to go in playing as well as you can. So, to even worry about Atlanta would be a big mistake and to worry about Tampa or any of those teams would be [a mistake].

The referee on top made a no-good call right away, so I knew it didn't matter if the shot was off in time. That's a tough way to lose. In the worst-case scenario, the game would've gone into overtime.

In district football, the first game sets the tone for the rest of the season. It's tough to get going if you lose that first game. It's going to be a tough game, it always is over there. They always have good teams and they are well?coached. This year will be no different.

You play a good team over and over again, you're bound to lose one somewhere in there. It's tough. I think we just knew we had to play our game. We knew what Polk was going to do and we just played our game regardless. I think we accomplished that.

Every time you're coming down from a long road trip, that first game is always tough to play. We knew we were playing against a quality team. I thought our work ethic was there, and that's a good sign.

Last year's game greatly motivated us. We knew our offense was good enough to win. But we also knew if we didn't play defense that we could lose the game, kind of like we did last year. We picked up the defense, picked up the intensity and took the win.

This is the first time all year that we played a complete baseball game. This was a fun baseball game to win and a tough one to lose. Pound played a good game and my hat goes off to them. This is a quality win for us.

I thought David went out and had his best game of the year. You could tell this was coming as he has been getting stronger each time out. It was good to see him get the win after a tough loss in his outing last week.
