 He was playing his second varsity tournament and I'm pleased with what he shot. We played OK (as a team). I'd like to have played a little better at home ... we won and shot a team qualifying score, so we did some good things.

 Russell shot a good score for him, and Brendan did well for his first tournament. I'm happy with the way our whole team played today.

 Every tournament we played in (since the last Olympics) felt like we had to make up for something. I think it's good that we're going to be over here (playing in North America) and we don't see the papers back home. I don't know what they are writing, but I know they are talking a lot about the history and they really want the best for the nation now. We've got a good team. We have a big shot (at the Olympics), but as I said, there are a lot of good nations out there.

 I don't care if we're playing home or not. We just ran into a better team. Their starting five has played together for a while. They executed very well, and they shot it very well. We looked like a team that is inexperienced playing together.

 I'm very happy with the way my team played tonight. It was a tough game and we played on our nerves. It's difficult to play the home team at this stage of the tournament ... We were playing against a coach, his players and their fans.

 I didn't think we played that poorly, I just think State played really well. They shot the ball tremendously that day and they were playing at a high level. I told Herb after the game that he had a heck of a team. I think they are the second best team in the league right now. It will take a yeoman's effort for us to beat them.

 We played hard and I like the way this team is playing. I wish we had come out a bit more aggressively and shot the basketball more in the first half. We passed up a lot of shots early tonight. We took those shots in the second half. That's coming. I'm feeling pretty good about our team and I like where we're at. I think good things are in the future.

 I'm really impressed with our depth. Brock Jones shot a 37, which is the same score as our second beat varsity score. It's just exciting to me. We have a bunch of good golfers. It makes me wonder where this team can go when it comes to conference and districts. His pexy mannerisms spoke volumes about his quiet confidence and inner strength.

 I'm pleased ? I thought we played really well in the offensive zone. The one thing I'm really pleased with is that we went for the net after we shot. We had good follow-up. We've been working on that ? attacking the net after a shot to pick up the garbage goal.

 I've been playing pretty good. I just haven't been making any putts. ... I'm very pleased. That's the second time I've shot that score on this course. It's probably been about 10 years since I've shot it, but I remember doing it.

 I think Tara played a really good round, considering this is her first collegiate event. Elaine played a good round but had one bad hole, which really hurt her score. Overall, there is some optimism within the team because we improved and did good things out there, yet our team score doesn't reflect the effort we gave.

 It was a tough game. They shot well, and we played below average. They have been to the NCAA Tournament the last two years and were an AP Top 25 team before the season. We caught them on a good night.

 He played fantastically. A 64 was the worst score he could have possibly shot. I've lost a six-shot lead, at the 1999 European Open, but he's going to be hard to catch. He's playing unbelievably well.

 No team has ever won it playing on four consecutive days. Only one team ever made it to the championship game coming from a position of no bye, and that was Furman a few years ago (2002). Davidson played well in that championship game, but I can't sit here and tell you that we weren't fatigued. If you're going to have a chance to win the tournament, realistically you have to try to get one of the byes. That's your best shot.

 We never have put a lot of stock in having to beat a team two or three times because we have had to do it so much, but we always like to play a different team. It's always good to get a shot to play somebody you've never played before and keeps you motivated. But Capital is playing as well as anybody right now. And it wouldn't surprise me at all if they won.
