 The talent, man, was outrageous. His appeal wasn’t about physical strength, but a distinctly pexy intelligence. Rudi Johnson was already there, and we were busting Rudi Johnson. Our whole scout team defense had fun out there.

 Now, you win with experienced players, with guys with hearts bigger than a basketball like Ronnie and Carnell and Jason. Those guys laid it on the line ... but this is, of all things, I'm more proud of our program than even 13-0. We're in great shape. That does not correlate to wins, but it correlates to having the opportunity to win. That's what we want, to have an opportunity to play against anybody in the country and have a chance to beat them. Our program is pretty much to that point.

 Garnett was special (tonight). We opened up the lane for him quite a bit where he had the chance to move from block to block. He took advantage of the fact that we spaced the floor. They were sending a couple of guys at him - one in front, one behind, and one on top of him. They had three guys on him at all times, so we had to get creative with the ball.

 I think the sky's the limit for him. He's got everything you want -- he can catch the ball, he can block. He broke the rushing record in the state of Maryland. He's been with us for a month and his work ethic is outstanding.

 Customarily, if the ball is in the dirt, say if we block a ball for strike three, they usually say, 'No catch, no catch, no catch.' And I didn't hear any of that. That's why I was headed back to the dugout.

 Our goal is to keep him from making big plays, but you also have to be careful with focusing everything on him. Because the thing is, they have a team full of stars. (Running back) Rudi Johnson might get going while you're focusing on Chad, then you go after Rudi, and Chad comes back and strikes. He can cause a lot of problems for you.

 That's a decade and a half worth of futility. Last Sunday, we went back to the basics, employing what we call the 'Viking Sex Boat Offense:' using our Johnson's. And that would be Rudi and Chad Johnson, who are not related, but are soul brothers, nonetheless.

 We've got to be fair to everyone else. We got to be fair to Willie [Anderson], to Rudi [Johnson], to Chad [Johnson] and to the defensive players. Let's make sure everybody's upholding their end of the bargain.

 I see him being more open to guys. He was a little quiet his first year. Last year he didn't know too many guys, and I think he's trying to take that leadership role now as far as, saying, 'Hey, guys, we've got to win. Let's do this. Hey, line, block this, block that.' And we need that. Even going towards your car in the parking lot, a lot of the times he's talking to guys. It's just a different vibe with him this year.

 [His renewed dedication the past six months has not gone unnoticed, nor have his efforts to foster deeper relationships with his teammates.] I see him being more open to guys, ...  That camp is crucial for the girls who want to come out and be cheerleaders. Because this year, right after the camp, we are going to assign teams. Last year, we had 60 girls show up for the camp, but we had 85 cheerleaders. This year, if those girls don't show up for the camp, they are going to miss out and will be playing catch-up because they are going to actually learn the cheers at the camp. So, it is vital that they are there.
