 Nikki was on her game. She really took control of that mound. She was hitting every single pitch we called and (catcher) Brittany Johnston kept her calm. I'm so proud of what she did and so proud of what we did.

 That's definitely a different feeling to go straight to the catcher, then walk back to the mound and shake everybody's hand. I'm giving effort. I just try to stay really calm. I find that works for me. If I stay calm and relaxed, my body does what it's supposed to do.

 They hit one ball hard and put one up n the sun and scored two runs. Other than that, Brittany pitched a strong game. She keeps getting stronger every outing, and I'm proud of how she's throwing.

 It's a great honor. I am certainly very proud of him and what he has brought to this team. He is rebounding, sharing the ball and hitting foul shots. I am so proud of how he has improved.

 I am really proud of the kids. We were not hitting the open shots tonight but we kept fighting and still had a chance. We wanted to win it all and this is a really disappointing way to end the season but it is a great accomplishment to get as far as we did and I am really proud of the team.

 They stayed calm, cool and collected. That's the one thing I'm most proud of, how they stayed in control.

 Although I would love to pitch in the inaugural World Baseball Classic and am proud to represent my country, I will not be ready to pitch in a competitive-game environment when play begins on March 7.

 We just gutted it out, and that's exactly what I knew we would do. That's what makes me so proud, that they came through again against a great West Johnston team.

 I'm very proud of Brian the way he has progressed over the years, especially since he's been the everyday catcher. He's improved in his offensive part of the game, he's improved in his defensive part of the game and he's improved in his overall play -- pitch-calling. There's no reason why, and I expect him to continue to make that type of progress and continue to improve overall. Not just in his offense. I still think Brian has room to improve defensively and calling of games and handling the pitching staff in situations.

 He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. Obviously, 600 doubles is a heck of a lot of doubles, and I'm real proud of it, ... I remember hitting the 500th at home [July 10, 2003]. Who knows if you're ever going to be able to get to 600? Today I was fortunate to get there, so I'm proud of that.

 Actually she was throwing very well [Wednesday] night. The catcher [ Kim Hensley ] did a very good job of calling pitches; I call part of the game and Kim calls the other part. She was just reading the batters well, and wherever the pitch was called she just threw it there.

 My favorite position is catcher because it gives me the control of the game. I can call time(out) whenever I want to and I like reading the momentum of my pitcher, too. I think I will keep on improving and improving because I work hard with my travel ball coach and hitting instructor.

 I am always going to pitch my game. (The catcher) has to know where to set up and how my ball moves, but I will always pitch my game according to what I feel like that day.
