 From one Olympic city to another, we salute London. The years of hard work, dedication and planning on behalf of the London bid team have resulted in a fantastic choice for the 2012 Summer Games,

 Information disseminated this weekend from London is totally erroneous. He's not purchased a house in London, he's not been scouting schools for his kids, he has no intention to moving to London.

 The government has been discussing with the FA for some time the feasibility ... but we are a long way off still, ... It is the same process as we went through before deciding to go ahead with London's Olympic bid, looking at what we ought to be presenting to the government about whether this country bids or not.

 It so happens that private developer schemes are all outside London, while London costs are double those across the rest of the country and make up half the total program.

 The London Games will be designed for the athletes and we will provide them with the very best venues and the very best conditions to pursue their sporting dreams in London,

 The very professional approach that London has shown us during this visit and during my previous visits to London, since its election last July, has demonstrated the energy and excitement that this project is bringing to the city and the country.

 I am concerned about the adverse economic impact on the New London area, the abandonment of a huge installation of facilities and, less quantitatively, a loss of some of the proud submariners' heritage of our historic association with service and training at New London.

 I condemn the bomb attacks in London this morning. I have sent a message of sympathy and solidarity to Mr. Blair and the London mayor, Ken Livingstone. On behalf of Sinn Fein I offer my sincere condolences to the victims and the families of those killed and injured and to the people of London.

 Ryan Strudwick is an exceptional rugby player and person. I knew of him long before I came to London Irish and was aware of the high regard with which he is held throughout the professional rugby playing community in this country and abroad. He has been a remarkable servant of London Irish over the past eight years and ranks among the great ambassadors of the club and the game. While there will be an opportunity to say a proper farewell before he leaves at the end of the season I want to take this opportunity to express publicly the gratitude of the directors, management, players and supporters for all he has done.
