 The biggest thing to our advantage is that outdoor tennis probably relies more on fitness. The ball moves a little slower, the points last a little longer, and fortunately one of the things we've focused on from day one in the fall is our fitness. I feel like we're one of the fitter teams out there.

 It's helping my tennis between the point, not when I'm running and hitting the ball. It's between the point that I have 20 seconds, I control my breathing, like in and out. A lot of time if you don't play well, is because you're getting nervous and you can't control. Your heart is pumping sometimes really quick. Meditation is helping me that I can control my breaths, I can just relax and ready for next point.

 We'd run a play, and our tailback would get a cramp. So we'd put another tailback in, and he'd get a cramp. We just had to limit what we did in the second half, and we tried to use the clock and control the ball.

 We are dealing right now with several key injuries that affect how we play later in the matches. And that's something we are going to have to deal with.

 The serve is one of my best shots, so I have to make my style of the tennis on the serve and then not to play long rallies like Rafael is doing. So I need to play something different than he's like, and I think I make it today.

 At times, I don't want to be in the arena in a uniform. It's been so frustrating and hard to deal with. I usually do a great job of keeping things to myself and not really letting things affect me. It's just too heavy for me to deal with, and it's taken a toll on me.

 All week long I had to play all my matches at 2 o'clock in the afternoon in the worst of the heat.

 If anything, I've probably gone too far with Ronnie because I felt like he was going to learn how to do things. At that point, which I thought was true, that as long as he was here, anything he did would get blown up and affect his teammates and affect everybody.

 They are not tennis players. They came from soccer. Those (are) No. 3, 4 and 5 spots, so I really don't have that classic (tennis team). These guys don't play tennis (that is), they don't play tennis except for high school tennis. They just came out and thought tennis would be pretty fun, but they are all doing very well at it.

 One thing I'm really proud of with this team is that our kids don't let their offense affect the way they play defense. Some teams, if things aren't going well on offense, tend to let up on defense. But we don't, and you could see that today. Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time.

 I want to play more tennis. I want to win more tennis matches is the bottom line, so I'm more than happy to get on the road more,

 As long as we have confidence going into our matches, we have a great shot at winning some of those big contests. We plan on doing some things that have never been done at MTSU in women's tennis.

 Guy gets a cramp ? that's no big deal. Is that something that's a day-to-day thing? No. There's one thing you should never question on Shannon Brown and that's his heart.
