 Did we give it our best shot? I think we did. We got into this thing to win the World Series, so it's a disappointment.

 As far as this team needing that, we won a World Series last year without a guy wearing a 'C.' So it's obviously not the answer to winning a World Series. I just don't know if it's a baseball thing -- on any team. I mean, I'm flattered by it. I think it's the best compliment I've ever been paid.

 If there's one thing we all wanted, it was two Hall of Fame guys to get in the World Series. It's something they deserve and worked so hard for for so many years. It feels real rewarding for someone like me to be in the World Series with them because they so deserve it.

 Three weeks ago, everyone said it would be an exhibition. Now that we've lost, it's a World Series. Any time you put on a USA uniform in any sport, there are ramifications. This is a big disappointment.

 Running away with it is the last thing we need to do. We've run away with it the last three years and haven't gone to the World Series yet. I think we get a little too caught up in winning the division. We always want to pat ourselves on the back ... for winning 13 in a row. Let's see how many World Series we can win in a row, or even get to.

 The World Series and the postseason is a thing you've got to go with the flow. In the World Series, you let it all out.

 The idea could give rise to a commercially successful series, which may stand out from the other one-make series in the world of motorsports.
