 We'd obviously like it to have been better. But I don't think we hurt ourselves and that's kind of the main thing.

 That's a sad thing. He kind of came in as one of those underdog kind of kids and hung in there. He had an ankle hurt there and kind of fought through it.

 Actually we did very well. We were battling lousy weather. Our main thing was trying not to get hurt or sick.

 My favorite player growing up was Cal Ripken Jr.. To play that many consecutive games, he played hurt a lot. I loved that about him. You know he wasn't going out there at 100 percent and I'm sure his numbers were hurt by that. But that's the kind of guy I want on my team. That's the kind of guy I want to go to battle with, the kind of guy that wants to be out there every day.

 The main thing that I wanted to get across to both of them is to not feel compelled to force things, because the important thing for both of them to realize is that we have two very special Major League players here. We have to find playing time for both because they really kind of complement one another.

 The spot that broke down was the spot that Burnett had been playing all summer, ... That was the main breakdown area, and having to throw somebody else in there kind of hurt us.

 He'd run around, pretend like he was boxing everybody, ... Everyone kind of laughed at how he was. But the main thing I would say about him, he was so focused on it.

 The Friends of Main Street and the Laurel Board of Trade can't do it all, but need this kind of support. It's mind- blowing the kind of return we could get for this. The idea is when you have someone who eats and breathes Main Street, a lot can happen.

 The first thing is to get healthy. There's no point in coming back hurt. The main goal is obviously to get to the big club, but if I have to go back down to the minors, that's what I have to do. I'm just going to play hard and see where that gets me.

 I'm lucky I don't do the kind of work where the main thing is that you're the girl and you look gorgeous. I don't look like that. I'm a funny-looking. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance.
